Washburn Guitars
For over one hundred years, Washburn has built more than just great guitars, they've built a history. The Washburn tradition of craftsmanship and innovation has withstood the tests of economics, brand competition and fashion. Since their birth in Chicago in 1883, the name Washburn has been branded into the world's finest stringed instruments. If your interest in guitars borders on passion, you will settle for nothing less than a Washburn.

The 1990s marked incredible growth for Washburn. It also saw the inclusion of some outstanding guitar innovators in the Washburn family: Nuno Bettencourt, Dimebag Darrell, Roger Waters, Bootsy Collins and Jennifer Batten have the distinction of being some of the few artists ever to be honored with a Washburn signature model guitar.

In the twenty-first century, Washburn is continuing to build its history. Now more than ever, an investment in a Washburn guitar is a special gift for yourself or someone you know.

Subject:A Great Guitar For the price
Quality: Washburn has a good reputation for moderate to good quality entry level instruments. This one definetely qualifies. I am a semi-pro repairman, mostly setups and mild fretwork and this guitar is a really good value
Reliability: Being that I just got it for a student I guess time will tell. The fit and finish look reliable enough.
Overall: Overall I would rate this instrument a 4 out of 5..are there some things that could be better? of course. But a solid top with a mahogany body and bound fretboard for 300 bucks really can't be beat.
Playability and Feel: I had to tweak the neck as out of the box the playability was slightly stiff and the intonation was less than great. A few 1/4 turns with the supplied truss rod allen wrench and the neck came in about .010 relief at the 7th fret and about .090 on the low E string, which quite frankly ain't too bad. I was going to sand a few thosands off the saddle but left it for now. By the way it comes with an extra saddle, shim and bridge pin...nice!
Tone: I prefer maple or rosewood bodied guitars but for the price this guitar sound ok to good. It is more than fine for the beginner or as a second guitar to throw in the car....it even comes with a hardshell case.
Finish: Finish is nice. There was some dark spots on the binding that easily rubbed right off.
Action: Action out of the box had to be tweaked a bit but came out nice
Skill Level: Semi-Pro
