Washburn Guitars
For over one hundred years, Washburn has built more than just great guitars, they've built a history. The Washburn tradition of craftsmanship and innovation has withstood the tests of economics, brand competition and fashion. Since their birth in Chicago in 1883, the name Washburn has been branded into the world's finest stringed instruments. If your interest in guitars borders on passion, you will settle for nothing less than a Washburn.

The history of Washburn Guitars is the history of a wide range of musicians. From blues players who shaped rock ‘n roll to multi-platinum recording artists to emerging guitar virtuosos. It is a history that can be heard and experienced every time you turn on the radio or listen to a live performance. It is a history built by skilled craftsmen and musicians who share one common love–a passion for the guitar.

Nuno Bettencourt, Dimebag Darrell, Roger Waters, Bootsy Collins and Jennifer Batten have the distinction of being some of the few artists ever to be honored with a Washburn signature model guitar.

Subject:Great sound, great look
Quality: The frets were a bit sharp on the edges but that was easily fixed. That's really the only complaint I had about this guitar. No dead spots in the fretboard, tuning machines are holding tune very well.. just that slight curve at the bridge to keep an eye on.
Sound: Laminated top and sides; very bright sound, nicely clear. Not a whole lot of bassy warmth but it has a decent range of tone, very pleasing to the ears.
Reliability: I've owned it for about a week, so... we'll see. Tension of the strings (standard tuning) is causing a slight curve above and below the bridge, viewable when looking in the gloss at an angle. Haven't looked at the bracing (or lack thereof) but if it fails anywhere, it'll probably be there.
Overall: I've not owned many Washburns and have usually steered clear of most used. That might change after seeing this D11 up close and trying it out. It's fast becoming a favorite.
Playability and Feel: The neck is pleasantly thin, doesn't feel like a thick plank of wood.
Tone: As mentioned before it's got a good, bright sound across the range, not boxy like most inexpensive acoustic guitars. Sounds surprisingly good for being a laminate.
Finish: The wood is absolutely gorgeous. It's too bad they've discontinued the D11s... they really are nice grain.
Action: The action was surprisingly low compared to most entry-level acoustic guitars I've seen. Very easy to play.

Subject:Bang for your buck
Quality: Quality is very good. I've looked around at shops and this guitar feels as solid as many that are 3 or 4 times the price.
Reliability: I haven't had it very long, but I don't think reliability will be an issue.
Overall: Awesome finish, great sound and action, excellent value.
Playability and Feel: Plays great, I'm still a beginner but I'm having no problems learning and playing on this guitar.
Tone: Sounds just as good as the expensive guitars my friends have. I have gotten compliments from others.
Finish: VERY nice, looks even better in person. These pics just don't do it justice.
Action: Very good, even the guy at the music store told me he loved the action on this guitar and they have a showroom full of $1k guitars.
Skill Level: Beginner
