The Yamaha APX500 Acoustic Electric Guitar places emphasis on playability with a stylish thin profile that fits the musician’s body. The APX500 is a Thinline Acoustic Electric with 1-way pickup system including a built in tuner and 3 band equalizer.

As for cosmetics, the APX500 features a beautiful mother-of-pearl sound hole ring inlay, white fingerboard binding, white/black body binding, mother-of-pearl APX & Yamaha headstock logos and position markers. This model comes in an amazing Black color.

The APX500 also features a revamped version of the tried and true System55T. This is a 1-way piezo pickup system that comes with a 3-band EQ and built-in tuner.

Quality: Yes i would definitely say this product was made well and i imagine he will be playing it for years. I'm so confident and happy with my purchase.
Sound: It sounds beautiful
Reliability: Well he's only had it for about a month now. But Yamaha music brand for any instrument in my experience is very durable/long lasting and high quality.
Overall: I bought this for my fiancee as an anniversary gift. I was really nervous about buying a guitar because i didn't know which brands were good and which weren't so good. but Yamaha is great with ALL instruments so i went with this guitar. He LOVED this guitar to death! PERFECT for beginners learning how to play. The tuner really came in handy and is easy to use. His friend who is a guitar expert said it was a really good guitar and that the string were high quality.
Playability and Feel: He said it was very nice and light and thin. Perfect for beginners because it makes it easier to play it when it's not so heavy.
Tone: His friend, the guitar expert, said that it had great sound and he was very jealous.
Finish: This is a beautiful guitar. Any white color that you see in the picture is actually Mother of Pearl Inlay. Even on the neck.
Action: Tune it up and it's ready to go. Strings already attached.
Skill Level: Beginner

Sound: tone is great, sounds good alone and plugged in
Reliability: just got it so cant comment on that
Overall: This is the First Yamaha i have bought, it has a very nice finish, well made and a bright clean sound
Playability and Feel: plays real nice, easy to hold, light and comfortable, i got it to replace my huge dreadnought, easier to fret and practice on.
Tone: nice tone not too bright not too dark
Finish: i love the finish very pretty, no blemishes, love the white inlay
Action: action is great, a few turns and was in tune
