Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
No complaints. looks rock solid, as all Yamahas usually are. No cracks, nice finish, clean molding. Dinged one star for being all plywood. C'mon Yamaha..these days no excuse for no solid top, even at this price.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
cant judge this, except to say I have owned Yamahas before and they are workhorses, built to last.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
As a professional guitar player, I am used to playing all wood dreadnoughts with Fishman rare earth pickups and my Fishman Loudbox 100. I am very happy with this guitar, and would recommend it to beginners and professionals alike, very highly. Much better than expected tone, highly playable, nice appearance, sounds great plugged into a GOOD amp.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
High marks here, as a guy with a belly and smaller hands, this guitar fits like a glove. Great action, thin neck.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The tone is the only area I ding this guitar. For fingerpicking alone I would give it five stars, but for strumming it just has a less natural sound than my usual Fishman Rare Earth in an all solid wood mahogany dread. I mention that for frame of reference, but I give it 4 stars overall for tone which is saying alot. It still has that slightly twangy piezo sound where you just cannot dial the treble and midrange enough for it to be a "natural" sound, but it is close, and more than acceptable and shockingly good at this price. Other major reason for dinging a star is the unplugged sound...strummed it is boxy, hollow and thin, but more pleasant for finger picking. Sorry, but this is where it separates from solid wood guitars. But, this is NOT made for being unplugged. It sounds great plugged in.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Perfect. Clean and attractive.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action is superb. Best thing about this guitar. I have smaller hands, and this feels really good.

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
The quality of this guitar was good. This one was a replacement for a APX500FM that was not built well. AMS could not have responded better when I got the other guitar.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
A little early to tell.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
This guitar is a surprisely good combination of size, features, build quality and sound.

Plays and Feels Great
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
It is a small bodied thin acoustic guitar. It's tone unplugged is understandably limited but it still isn't bad. This guitar sounds great plugged in. I am very, very impressed by it's amplified tone.
Finish

Good
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Great action out of the box. Really quite remarkable.
