This is the sound module or "brain" for the Yamaha DTXPRESS III. Packed with sounds and pro functionality, it is one of the most advanced electronic drum kit modules in the world.
Features include more than 1,000 sounds, 128 GM voices, 80 drum kits, 127 songs, an integrated 2-track sequencer, 3-zone snare pad, the Groove Check practice feature and easy-view backlit display.
The DTXPRESS III lets you practice and perform in complete privacy using headphones, and will connect directly to a PC or Mac via MIDI or its TO HOST connection. Yamaha's sound engineers have gone all out and created a wealth of high-quality sound waves, centered mostly on cymbal sounds, for the DTXPRESS III. In total, the DTXP3 offers 990 drum voices with refined preset drum kits, and preset songs.
48 Preset Drum Kits
Rock, Hip Hop, Jazz, Latin, and more-the DTXPRESS III offers 48 preset drum kits that cover a wide range styles. Having such an expansive palette at your disposal lets you choose the preset that fits the mood or style of the song you're playing, making the music sound that much more authentic. You can also edit voice effects, pitch, or trigger sensitivity to create your own customized kit and save into the units 32 User Memory area.
Sharpening Your Skills
When working on your time with the click function, the metronome lets you choose from 6 different sounds, like cowbell or stick sounds, for the click sound. There's also a User setting that lets you select and assign any voice to the metronome. And when practicing with the metronome, you can use its Groove Check function to check on your playing accuracy.
Play Along with the 95 Preset Songs or your Favorite CD's
The DTXPRESS III comes with 95 preset songs performed by professional musicians. With the Song function, you can mute either the whole drum track, or a single drum part, so you can play along with the song in a virtual session. An AUX IN jack on the back of the unit lets you connect a CD Player or MP3 Player to the DTXPRESS III and play along with your favorite recorded music. And a built-in sequencer lets you record your performance so you can listen and critque your playing.
