Yamaha RH5MA Semi Open Headphones

Yamaha RH5MA headphones are the undisputed professional choice in many studios across the globe.
Like Yamaha's universally accepted NS10M monitor cabinets, think of the RH5M as as a standard reference monitor. They are that good. Their audio performance includes 98dB sensitivity, ultra-low 32 ohm impedance (so you'll never have a problem hearing them) and 20Hz - 20kHz frequency response.

The ultimate in comfort, Yamaha RH5MA headphones have a semi-open design with urethane leather earpads and they weigh less then 6 oz. Their 8 foot oxygen free copper cord has a 1/4" end and includes a 1/8" adapter.

Like the Yamaha NS10m speakers, this is the choice for studio monitoring. The ultimate in comfort with urethane leather earpads. These headphones are the semi-open dynamic stereo type with a standard eight foot oxygen free copper cord.

Other Features

  • 98 dB/mW sensitivity
  • 32-Ohm impedance
  • 20-20,000 Hz full spectrum frequency range

Overall: After years using Sennheiser cans in radio, I was very pleased with the comfort and performance of the Yamahas. They are quite comfortable, and the sound is crisp and well defined. You can't beat this quality for the cost. Good job, Yamaha.

SOUND:
my friend told me to put these on and be amazed...and i said "right ok"...needless to say i do not think I have ever heard anything so pure and powerful through these headphones. You think you listen to the songs you have in decent quality? I honestly can't believe the sound...These headphones are quality stereo systems.

Very nice for regular listening for musical mixing

FEATURES:
No features really. They are headphones. Ok....it ain't wireless. I still ain't going to mark it down.

EASE OF USE:
Plug and play. What more can I say!

VALUE:
Very good value. Best head phone I bought for this amount of money.

SOUND:
Crisp and clean sounds. Nothing is bass boosted or anything. I've search far and wide for a decent set of head phones and these are tighter than a few more expensive brands. Never buy Sony headphones. More money, less quality

OVERALL:
I am serious when it comes to headphone sounds. I have bought quite a few sets of headphones and I was very disappointed until I got to these. I have been satisfied with this and if I lost it then I'd go out and buy another set....even with the shipping and handling. The cord

Subject:Flat, clean, sound - excellent for monitoring/live recording
Quality: Much better made than a "cheap" PC headset. If you are careful with the wire, these should be fine.
Features: Nice flat response. Clean, tight bass without the ridiculous overblown "thumpa thumpa thumpa" bass that consumer headphones are notorious for. Mids and highs are bright and clean without burning your ears off. Very comfortable on my head. The rubber cushions fit ON yours ears, not AROUND them. But they blocked outside noise well, and they certainly keep the headphone audio contained well enough for you to do recording and overdubbing (it won't bleed out to your mics).
Ease of Use: Trivial. They are headphones. The 1/4" and 1/8" adaptable jack is a nice plus. You can plug these into portable digital recorder or other handheld with the 1/8" jack, or into a pro deck with the 1/4". My Zoom H4 digital recorder easily drove these phones loud and clean, as did a Tascam 4-track Portastudio.
Value: Very nice for 50 bucks. If you want to do home recording with overtracking, etc, these are the perfect studio monitor headphones. They also make nice all-around phones for music listening.

These are relatively well made and will likely last for a long time.

FEATURES:
I like the low impedance... makes for nice volume levels without cranking the headphone amp.

EASE OF USE:

VALUE:
Excellent phones for the $$$.

SOUND:
They can come across as a little bassy/boomy but the highs and mids are still well defined. They are not as comfortable as my AKG's for marathon sessions, but I bought them for brief over-tracking of other artists in my studio so its not a big deal. For the $$$ they sound great. Spend twice this on some AKG's for the full sha-bang.
