The high-quality sound simulates an acoustic piano, while Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keys help build proper finger technique.

When closed, the YDPS31 takes up a small footprint and the soft-shut key cover creates a flat surface that resembles a desk, making it ideal for school piano labs. Don't be fooled by the compact design, because there's plenty of power under the hood. The model comes with 3 piano-style pedals, a 6W x 2 stereo sound system and Yamaha's legendary AWM piano samples.

The YDPS31 utilizes Yamaha’s sophisticated AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) Stereo Sampling for the instrumental voices, faithfully reproducing all of the dynamic details and sonic nuances of the original. A built-in song recorder and metronome that makes the YDPS31 ideal for piano lessons, practicing, or even as a scratch pad for your next masterpiece.

50 specially selected piano songs of standard piano repertoire are built into each, either for your listening enjoyment, or as a rehearsal tool while playing out of the included 50 Greats for the Piano book. The damper pedal includes an authentic Half Damper effect, giving you nuanced expressive control over the sustained sound, far more realistic than a simple on/off footswitch.
