Zildjian 7A Black Dip Drum Sticks

The Zildjian 7A Drum Stick provides a slim profile for light touch and great articulation. The DIP material is a special coating that is applied to the grip area of the stick to provide a comfortable, slightly tacky gripping surface. This allows drummers to loosen their grip and relax their hands more, particularly in sweaty playing situations. The DIP coating also offers the drummer or percussionist an alternative striking surface.

Zildjian Drumsticks - Play With Fire
Crafted to the same extraordinarily high standards as Zildjian cymbals, Zildjian drumsticks simply feel great. Manufactured with state-of-the-art consistency, they are 100% guaranteed straight.

Whatever your stick preference or playing style, you’ll find your favorite among Zildjian's vast selection of sizes, lengths and tip styles, all crafted from the highest quality U.S. Hickory or Maple Woods.

Subject:Meh, I've seen better
Quality: Once again seems like any other drumstick. However don't buy for the grip, mine actually peeled off after repeated use
Ease of Use: Very easy to use
Sound: Sounds like any other wood drumstick with a wood tip
Value: Seems more like a novelty act with "Black Dip" than anything else, better off buying just normal drumsicks
Durability: Not very durable and that's just because they are 7a but just the way the drumsticks were made, speaking from experience, the neck just got crazy thin before it snapped, not strong reinforcement there
Do you own this product?: I did, but they snapped

Subject:7AN Review for use with Rock Band 1/2 Drum Kits
Quality: The drumsticks seem to be made of a good quality wood. So far there has been no cracking or splintering of any type. I received these sticks on 11/13/2008 and the rubber "DIP" part of both sticks already have some major peeling at the top and the "Zildjian" logo has pretty much faded. Because I purchased these sticks for the "DIP" feature I have to give it a mediocre rating for quality.
Features: The light weight of the 7A makes playing fast sections a breeze without the worry of any damage to your pads or expansion cymbals. The rubber "DIP" is a great addition for control and stability but does not seem to have much life to it.
Sound: I use the nylon tips instead of wood so the sound will vary between the two. On a stock RB kit the stick is still fairly loud but is quieter than the stock RB sticks. On a RB 2 drum kit there is only slight noise due to the rubber pads of the RB 2 kit. When used on the expansion cymbals the noise is bit louder but nothing major. When used properly there should be no issues with impact sound.
Overall: Because it is a smaller stick it is better suited for the longevity of your stock Rock Band kits. The 5A model is a bit larger and heavier but is also acceptable. The 7A is a better selection for your faster songs that have you moving around the your set allot. These sticks feel better than the stock RB sticks and have the option for a nylon head. The rubber "DIP" may seem like a great additional at first but it is not long lasting.
Value: The AMS price is very fair for these sticks however, the added "DIP" is not really worth the extra cost considering it peels soo fast. A nice set of drummer gloves or some tape on regular sticks may be a better value in the long run.
Appearance: It looks exactly as pictured except it will have white tips if you go with the 7AN.
