| I've owned a few Zoom bass pedals in my day. Some of the earlier ones like the BFX 708 were a bit plasticky and fragile. This model is a much more solid hard shell type plastic. Knobs are plastic, but seem to hold there own. Most of my Zoom pedals have been reliable and dependable | | Features:
| You get a lot of bang for the buck....most multi-effects pedals have shaky, redundant presets. Much to my surprise, I think that most of the presets are pretty decent. Pretty wide range with the 4 banks, which include various amp models, artists, some bass synth programs, a few wacky ones as well. I really like the bass synth effect, it's pretty decent and you can program some cool sounds. The drum machine programs are crisp and well defined. You can have a lot of fun with that as well. Having 40 presets and 40 user program areas really opens up the creativity bank...and that's the real key with a pedal like this. Don't go by the presets alone...take the time to mess around with the effects, and you can really create some neat patches. I mean, for $80, you can't go wrong! And it's easy as hell to program. | | Sound:
| This unit has 32 bit processing, which gives it a clean, powerful punch. I've had a Digitech BP-200 for 5 years now, and I think the Zooms have finally caught up with the Digi as far as processing power and sound. While the Digi, IMO, is unmatched with the distortion capabilities, I feel that the Zoom has a better defret effect and drum machine. Good sound. | | Playability and Feel:
