Zoom

The Zoom R8 Multitrack SD Recorder Controller and Interface is everything you need to start recording today! Zoom takes the turbocharged design of the R24 and reduces the footprint for a portable, powerful music production solution. Like its predecessor, the R8 combines four production tools in one incredibly versatile device. In addition to being a multi-track recorder with 8-track playback and 2-track simultaneous recording using SD memory cards, the R8 is an audio interface, a control surface and a pad sampler.

More than ever before, you have all the tools necessary to create high-quality recordings anywhere.

Unbelievable machine!
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
The unit is well made, though I wouldn't advise dropping it. I'd never used a ZOOM product before and this was a good way for me to be introduced to their merchandise.
Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
The Sound! I hooked it up to a Yamaha monitor and scrolled through a few of the Mic programs. I can't sing well, but the R8 made me sound like a pro. And the overall sound is crystal clear. Also the portability is very handy. It fit snugly into my keyboard case.
Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be?
The R8 is really easy to figure out. I only had to pick up the manual twice so far and I've had it for three weeks. The manual itself is well written and easy to understand.
Sound
How is the tone?
Like I said earlier, the sound is unbelievable coming from a machine this small. I have worked with other multitracks, but none of them sounded this good.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
So far, it has proven to be very reliable, handling multiple takes and punch ins with no glitches.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
I love this product. If it breaks I would gladly replace it. There are so many features packed into it, that I could record studio sounding CDs with no problem.
