Akai does it again
Quality:
Very sturdy like all akai products. I love it. Light weight too.
Features:
Easy lay out with performance in mind.Only thing id add is better lighting for low light club performance, theres just so many buttons it can become tedious to work in low light.
Ease of Use:
Very user friendly if you are familiar with Live you will be up and running in minutes.

Best Controller Around
Quality:
Very. Heavy duty construction. I can't tell if it's just very heavy duty plastic, or if the body is metal, but it seems pretty hard to break, that's for sure.
Features:
Everything is automapped. This is the only controller I've ever worked with that is pre-mapped to every single feature in Ableton except for one, and you can work around that. The only feature that it doesn't have by default is the ability to switch between clip/session and Arrangement views. That can be worked around with MIDI learn
Ease of Use:
Go look at the documentation for this product. There isn't anything more than 2 pages long. You know why? It isn't necessary. The APC40 IS the physical representation of the software. If you know how to use Ableton, you know how to use the APC40
Value:
Absolutely. They could have charged a lot more for the product and people would not have batted an eyelash. I only by Akai products now, because they don't suck.
Appearance:
Sleek, ergonomic, I absolutely love the full rotary encoders.

Beginner
