Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? excellent build and key action. feels solid. the gooseneck mic is high quality as well. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? not too into the vocoder but it's nice to have. the big feature is by far the onboard stock sounds and patterns. good stuff. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? it's pretty easy to use but I would have liked a USB connection and some sort of sound editor. I'd rather edit on the computer than on a tiny lcd screen. also w/ a USB you could transfer and save sounds more readily. this is the biggest short coming of the keyboard. I was kinda suprised it did'nt have USB but I bought it anyway. Sound How is its Tone? the sounds are great. the drums are ok but not phenomenal.you could find use out of some of them though. the analog sounds are warm and rich not really "dirty" though. kinda clean almost too much. but you can add effects onboard or thru your daw. Action How was the action out of the box? smooth. Value Was this item an overall good value? I got an extremely good deal on a new one (paid $225 at a competitor). but stikll a good value at $400. some places have instant rebates. anyway it's got great sounds and I have yet to load the others from the micron but will soon.

The best features are the unlimited sounds and now I learned you can download more patches. Amazing. Not only I do use this for recording, I use it for live performances. I incorporate the Miniak in my DJ sets and it enhances my performance. The Crowd Love It, Other DJs Hate It! Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? The ease of use was pretty good. I would have given it 5 stars with a tutorial DVD or a link for tutorials. Otherwise the best teacher sometimes is trial & error. My learning curve for this is increasing everytime I use it. Sound How is its Tone? The sound is great coming out of this machine. I have a friend who also play keys and he can't believe the sound that comes out of this thing. He also liked the feel of the keys and how they were like a standard keyboard opposed to mini keys on other brands. Action How was the action out of the box? Out the box? Easy setup. No problems getting great sound out of this machine. Plugged it in and started playing. Value Was this item an overall good value? The value is great for what you get. Especially with the rebate. Makes it more inviting. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Well made, sturdy and looks good in the setup. Does not look like a toy.

Action How was the action out of the box? action out of the box?, Well, not much movement/action after i put it on a keyboard stand. Out of the 35days that i have had it it hasn't moved from my keyboard stand, but i will keep everyone posted and updated if the miniAK try's to run away. Value Was this item an overall good value? at $400 the miniAK is a steal. i own a microkorg and a micron, and the miniAK destroys them in its sleep. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Metal Casing with great action on the keys makes this synth perfect. Solid Mic for the Vocodor. Oh, and did i mention that the miniAK produces sounds that are usually only heard in dreams. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? best features has to be the great sound quality and the amazing key action. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? Very simple to use. Great user interface allows you to save , change/mod sounds without even looking at the manual. Sound How is its Tone? sound is a 10/10 ! no more to say.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? This synth is constucted so much better than the R3, Microkorg or Micron its much more weighted but in a good way. Feels like it will last a long time and is not a toy. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? You can load sounds (including the factory sounds) from the Alesis Micron or Ion so you get presets from all 3 synths in this machine all you have to do is dwnld them for free and load them in its fast and easy and gives you about 2000+ sounds to start with, Yes true. How playable do you consider this product to be? the Miniak first debuted a lot of reviews said it was a update of the Micron,Ion by Alesis (both companies owned by Numark. Engineers used the same sound processing technology in these 3 synths(Miniak, Micron, Ion). The only thing I can tell is that the Akai Miniak has in common with the Alesis Micron and Ion is that 1st, All three of the synths are owned, designed and manufactured by the same parent Comp.,NUMARK and 2nd,Which is the coolest thing I have heard about different brands of synthsAkai Miniak can LOAD any Micron or Ion presets including the factory presets posted online (thats over 600 presets each synth-I am NOT claiming the ION or Micron can load and play any preset from the MINIAk synth) It is the other way around the Miniak can play presets from all 3 so its like owning a syth that has the presets from 3 diff ones.I have tried this and it does load them and the presets sound better on the Akai than the Alesis machines. Sound How is its Tone? It sounds really prof for a synth in this price range (list) and for the price you can get it for now you really are making a mistake if you pass this deal up. You won;t be disappointed in its performane.Most reviews are so, so but ck out keybd magazines review it will teach you some killer stuff and not just about this synth. Google for it. Action How was the action out of the box? Right, thats how the keys feel, not like some toy, the action is as a synth should be. Value Was this item an overall good value? Do you realize what you can get these for right now? With rebate of 10bucks it wont last forever so get it while you can. The ability to layer up these complex sounds is unbelieveable at this price,sounds cover all the bases—organs, electric pianos, Clavs, chimes, and yes, synths—there are no samples. Everything is analog modeling. Even its drum sounds are created using analog-like synthesis techniques, so many have a TR-808 or TR-909 feel. A few distortion-enhanced kicks and snares, all of this can be layered together in sections across the keybd you can build up a whole track.
