Most versatile mic out there
Quality:
Don't drop it and it'll be fine, although I wouldn't be surprised if it survived the drop.
Features:
Having 5 polar patterns is a great asset, but add to that a 3 position pad and an adjustable bass roll-off filter, you've got pretty much everything possibly available in a mic. But the most important feature is the sound, which I'll talk about later.
Ease of Use:
Plug it into a decent preamp, turn on the phantom power, and you're ready to make something sound amazing.
Sound:
This is the cleanest mic I've ever heard. There is literally no noise from the mic; if you have noise, check your preamp, mic cable, etc. I've used this mic on every sound source I could get my hands on, and it excelled at each. It cuts through the mix perfectly without eq. Also, I'm a semiprofessional euphonium player and, obviously, record myself. I'd tried every mic and every placement possible, and never got the sound I wanted until I used this mic. Warm, full, present without a hint of harshness, and very much of a fat, open sound. Words can't describe it. I also recently recorded a deathcore band, and the screaming vocals came through so clear, and no matter how softly or loudly I mixed them in, they still cut through the mix and punched me in the face! We also had a gong crash in one of the songs, I put this mic about 2 feet in front, slightly off axis from the center of the gong, and BINGO, sat perfectly in the mix. Long story short, you can use this mic on anything
Value:
This mic is a little expensive for those of us home studio musicians. But, this mic is easily worth the price (and I never thought I'd say that). I was skeptical that spending the extra $500 would give twice the mic. Let's just say, this is more than twice the mic of anything I've ever tried that wasn't a U-87.

I own this mic and use it proudly
