General What is your overall opinion of this product? I really like this product. I'm part of Wandaliz Colon & The Machine. Its a great stage performance piece. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? The quality is good. Sent my first one back because of a rough sounding key. I use it in Electro-pop music but i do a mean electric guitar solo in some of our shows.. I use it on stage connected to Reason. It's amazing what you can dream up when assigning controls Ease of Use How user friendly is it? Would it work well for a beginner, intermediate or experienced player? It is user friendly if you know a little about assigning control. A beginner would have quite the learning curve. Features Are the features on the product what you were expecting? What are your favorite features? Yes its a controller the real fun is all you can do with it. Feel How is the feel of the keys? Are the controls laid out well? The feel is nice. The controls are laid out nicely and easy to get to Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? Great bang for the buck. I got mine when it was still $299 then they dropped the price a month later. I hope Alesis continues with this product instead of it vanishing in to thin air like the Control Pad and other Alesis products. No announcements they just vanish without a trace

General What is your overall opinion of this product? This is a great shoulder controller at a great price. Feels good, controls are very accessible in a well thought out layout. Pitch wheel is in a vary natural position, although a few times I've felt like I would rather have the up and down directions reversed (up is towards the keyboard), and I haven't found a way of changing it. I'm an old school synth guy, and sometimes I wish it also had a mod wheel, but the accelerometer lets you get modulation by tilting the keyboard up, a way cool feature! I like the on-neck sustain button, but sometimes wish I could access it and the wheel at the same time - guess I should try it with a sustain foot switch, there is a jack for it on the right panel. It works well with all my midi synths and modules, as well as my iPad apps (a blast plying leads with the AniMoog app!) Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? It seems to be a well made product, no problems encountered yet. I bought it mainly for use in a funk/rock band, playing right hand rhythmic chordal parts or leads. It really doesn't work very well for two handed keyboard playing, but I do some with it anyway. Ease of Use How user friendly is it? Would it work well for a beginner, intermediate or experienced player? I was able to take it out of the box, plug it in to a midi device, and immediately play it. One needs to do a bit of reading to edit the functions and controls, but otherwise quite user friendly. Features Are the features on the product what you were expecting? What are your favorite features? See my general comments above Feel How is the feel of the keys? Are the controls laid out well? Keys feel good, see my general comments on the layout. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? A great value especially at the new lower price. I can't recall any other shoulder synth in this price range except my old 1980's Yamaha CS-O1, a monophonic mini-key analog synth (which I still use, still plays great, still makes cools sounds!)
