Great amp!

Product Rating This is a great amp.. My only real complaint is the tweeter. It has a constant hiss on more trebley tones and it is VERY irritating.. That's all. I really like the 5 style knob. I can pull out 55 percent of the tones I want just from the amp.. The hiss from the tweeter limits other sounds I wish to use. This amp is 79 percent out of the box.

This is the 2nd BA115 that I have owned. I had several people ask me to price the first one to them and I finally made the mistake of pricing it to a friend at church and he snapped it up. Super amp with great sound, and low end. Tilt back design, 3 band equalizer, 5 position style switch. Amp weighs in at about 62 lbs. Controls are very accessible. It's an AMPEG-any tone you want! Great looking amp, very classy look.

I have only had this a couple of weeks but if it is like the rest of my ampeg stuff it will hold up over time. Slightly limited (no tbuilt in tuner) but this thing rocks a nice deep growl. Sounds is great. You can adjust the town very easily and it still keeos that low growl. As always you can always trust Ampeg out of the box. very little tweaking needed to be done and i had the amp rocking within a couple minutes.

Ampeg BA115 Bass Combo-Simply WOW!

The Product is an Ampeg...That name means Quality. How dependable is yet to be determined. I still use my Half Stack Yamaha from 1982. I take care of my equipment, so I expect this amp to do the same. Time will tell if it can hold up as well as my Yamaha has done. It has all of the Standard Features listed and a Master Volume as well as a Regular Volume control knob. Why, have 2 is a mystery to me but is not a big deal, either. I love the Selector Switch, that allows you to have 4 Classic Ampeg Amp Sounds as well as a Flat Position for your own sound, too. The Bass, Mid and Treble are all very responsive. You can hear the difference, if you take time to work with this amp. The Tone of this amp is Ampeg all of the way! It gives you even more Ampeg Sounds from the Selector Switch. The 15" Woofer may not be an Eminence, but it is very responsive and can give you whatever you need for sound. I happen to like the Motown, big bottom sound and the Latin Bass sound. I can get these sounds and more with this little baby!

Worth the money? Barely.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
This amp seems to be made well. It is solid and heavy.

FEATURES:
The tone select is nice but seems to be a mid-range buffer.

EASE OF USE:
This is an eay to use amp.

VALUE:
I don't think that what I paid is too much for an Ampeg product. Unfortunately, this amp should not have te Ampeg name on it at all.

SOUND:
This is horrible sounding amp. The horn is noisy and it is next to impossible to get a clean, loud soud form tis thing. I have heard better 10 inch amps of much less wattage and brand. Ampeg should be ashamed.

Great mid-range combo amp!!

By: Dan Millard from New London, MN, USA      Submitted: 2/5/2008

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
This is the first bass amp I ever bought, so most other amps of equal or lesser price and quality really don't impress me much. It is built great and has taken a moderate amount of punishment without showing much of anything. Very sturdy, though a little heavy.

FEATURES:
Despite not coming with effects, it comes with a tone selector and the high, low, and mid-range tone knobs really have a big effect on the sound. Great tweakage. Its also quite loud and has a lot of bass. I put it alongside my friend's Fender bassman that has the same wattage, and the Ampeg puts it to shame. It also has never buzzed at all, very clean, smooth sound.

EASE OF USE:
Despite a highly priced amp, it's great. Ready to play right away and simple to get used to.

VALUE:
I paid $450 for it, and I would have paid much more, it is a fantastic amp.

STYLE:
Punk, Heavy, Christian, and Rush

QUALITY:
Not enough power.

FEATURES:
Limited features. Amp is going back.

EASE OF USE:
Very easy to use.

VALUE:
Not worth the money. Very underpowered for 100 watts rms.

SOUND:
Low notes "farted" the 15 inch speaker at moderate volume levels.

OVERALL:
Not any where near 100 watts rms. I own the svt and 810 bottom. This may be a bad unit. It is being returned.
