I already have an Ampeg SVT setup, but I wanted the SCR-DI for direct recording purposes. Man, it sounds killer! Wish I had known about this little gem 2 albums ago. Just wow! If you're looking for that SVT tone in a little box, buy this!

This is so convenient. Portable, has the ultra low and hi press buttons that actually makes a difference in the low and high end on my bass.Needed something to take on the job and practice on my break Time and this bad boy has me rocking.Have all the ports I need to connect other devices.well definitely recommend this to anyone.you could use batteries or a wall outlet. Perfect.

I run this Pre-Amp into a SD Power Stage 700 and then into a Mesa 2x10 and 1x15 ran in parallel, and I am really enjoying the tone I am getting from this set-up. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I haven't been able to get a distortion sound that I like yet. Maybe I haven't fiddled with it enough yet? However, I don't use or need distortion very often and the clean sound I get is HUGE and PUNCHY at the same time, which is what I was looking for in my Bass tone and this Set-up has delivered that.

This DI is pretty cool. It's quiet. Can use it to practice silently. Plug you music into it, plug your headphones into it. Plug your bass into it. Boom!! I use it as a pre amp and when I play a casino gig where they don't want cabinets on stage. I can use this as a DI and keep my sound. Heavy duty. Built well! Buy it.

I bought this initially because I play at church from time to time which doesn't allow amps on stage. It gave me the boost I needed! Where it really shines is when I gig and plug this bad boy up to my Fender Rumble 200. All I can say is wow! I'll never gig without this again!

This is pretty much what I use on the daily. You don’t even need an amp to practice. Just connect your headphones and make sure the DI has a 9V battery or adapter and BAM! You got an amp! The tone you get out of this is amazing! I had a EHX Battalion before this and let me tell you what a difference this pedal makes.

This has been a great headphone amp for quiet practice and perfect for direct recording. I have not used it as a direct box live yet. Im sure it will work great on a small pedalboard plugged into the main sound system if ever needed.

Its definitely worth the money. Just using this as my current live rig, actually. As a rather percussive bass player, it really brought some of the subtle string noises out for me while also maintaining ampegs signature tone. Absolutely reccomend any bass player to try it.

I mostly use a Fender jazz with a Carvin 700 watt head with a Fender4x10 and 2x10 cab. This pedal really gives me so much range in shaping the sound. You won't regret this purchase.

I've used Ampeg gear for years. While traveling, I knew that I could rely on Ampeg gear to perform well at venues of all sizes. Obviously, this DI won't move air like an 8x10 cab will; but you can still get great Ampeg tone.
If you've used Ampeg gear before, you will easily be able to navigate the preamp section. Familiar controls, including Ampeg's signature Ultra Lo and Ultra Hi boosts are found here also.
The Scrambler overdrive channel proved to be quite versatile. You can dial in a little drive for amp simulation or crank it for full-on distortion. The blend knob allows you to mix in the amount of clean signal sent with your effected signal.
The output from this unit is so clean. This would be a great unit for houses of worship where amps are not always able to be used on stage. It's now possible to get great Ampeg tone from a unit that fits on your pedalboard!

Been playin almost fifty years, and never been a pedal fan, but this is a worthy tool. I like than I can preset the EQ and completely change my tone and enhance it all with some meaty grit. I play Ampeg SVT4pro, and the scrambler is a very nice complement. Adds some juice to the rockin blues we play.

If you are a lover of that indistinguishable Ampeg tone from the old SVT's of the 70's you will love it. Get while you can. I think they are sold out most of the time!
