I just purchased these mics for my sound company and they are the perfect solution for my kit setups! They have great adjustable mounts and casing that provides the endurance you’ll need for on the go events. The clarity is pure and precise and I plan to purchase several more of this exact kit.

A serious set of microphones that come in at an amazing cost savings when purchased together. When used as drum microphones they are fantastic, but they are also go to microphones for hundreds of other studio uses. If you want to build a microphone locker with super high quality mics at a huge cost savings check out this unit. These are not limited to just drums; they are used for every source you can think of, and the biggest studios in the world use them too. These record everything from soft and gentle pianos to acoustic & electric guitars/Bass, guitar/bass amps, vocals, back up vocals, voice over and anything else you could imagine recorded in a studio or live application; From Mozart to Megatdeth and beyond.
As far as drums are concerned these are top notch. The clips work just as they should, even if you have bulky hardware like on my Tama Star drums. There isn't a genre these can't handle, and there isn't an instrument these can't handle. I've been using these microphones for several years now, and I bought a second set about 6 months ago. These are an investment if you're serious about audio production.(All the mics, clamps and accessories, and case are built like tanks. They will last a lifetime.)

Finally got to use these to do some recording. The sounds I got from these mics were great. Specifically loved the sound from the kick with the D6 and the toms using the D2/D4's. Tight with some good punch. Looking forward to doing some more with them in the future.

First off I want to send a shout out to AMS for their great service. These microphones showed up shortly after I ordered them. The case has a nice little space for everything and an extra spot in case you purchase another D2 or D4 later. The rim clamps for the toms are great. They work perfect. To me the little gooseneck is a little weak for the snare microphone. I don’t like putting a clamp on my snare do that’s no biggie to me. Microphone build seems very sturdy throughout the entire set. The kick microphone is incredible. I place it on a stand barely inside the hole in the resonant head. It’s sounds punchy and beefy. Plenty of low end. I use in ear monitors and I almost cried tears of joy when I played my first show with it. The Tom mics were equally impressive. The D2’s and the D4 are great mics. It’s like they have that little extra thing you always want in your tom sound built right in. The overheads are sweet as well. They have a low roll off switch built into them. I don’t use it myself but it is there in case you want to use it. The overheads really bring the whole sound together in the mix, especially if you’re using in ear monitoring. The snare microphone has a wonderful sound. I place it about 1 inch from the head. In picks up the entire spectrum of my snare. Good crack. The midrange is great with it. I can’t recommend these enough. I’m a working musician. I play 4-7 gigs a week. These make my job easier. They make me enjoy my job more. If you’re looking for a great set of microphones that will last you many years then you should really consider these.

AMS makes getting the best gear easy! I may have gone with a cheaper set but the payment plans makes buying these a piece of cake and I couldn’t be happier.
These mics are crystal clear! There’s a reason the D6 is always on the list of best bass drum mics!! The drum clips are amazingly versatile and easy to use. If you are looking for a drum mic set that would can tote to a show and have better sound then the house set up, but also would like to do some recording back at your place. These are the mics for you

Huge fan of these mics.
I’ve used them to record. Flat without any eq, compression, etc, they sound great out of the box.
Use them live through a good system! You’ll be happy you did. The i5 is killer by itself. And the d6, in my opinion, is better than a beta52/91 combo for a kick any day.
Pay attention to placement and your drums will sound huge out of the gate.

My band has been looking to purchase a quality set of drum mics for some time now since we've been doing several outdoor shows that require drum amplification beyond just the kick drum. I read through several reviews and decided to go with the audix dp7 package and I'm so glad we did. The quality and clarity in these microphones is much better than any of the microphones we've used in the past. We've been able to use these microphones for 2 shows already and are super satisfied with them. The case they come in is super high quality and bound to keep the microphones well protected in our travels to and from shows.

I have looked at a lot of drum mics over time. I talked to people watched videos of these mics and they are the best drum mics around in Studio or on the road .
They are rugged and with stand the road set ups. Can’t beat them. They give best response to sound . #1 mics.

In the price range. This is amazing kit. I use a d6 with a 91 on every tour for every band I work for. I love the d2 and d4 on toms. They give the drum the deep sound I want. I wish audix would come up with a better clip situation though.

This mic kit is all you’ll need, from the deep boom achieved with the D6 to the tonal clarity of the D2’s and D4 on the toms, these things rock! Don’t forget the crisp highs and sizzle from the condensers or the clean crack of the snare through the i5. The rim clip system for the mics gold them right wheee you need them. Purchase something else and you’re truly missing the boat! I own two identical sets.

At $799.00 I struggled to justify the cost. But if you break it down to each mic, clip, etc this is a great price. I bought during the free mic cable promo, that adds a lot of value. The sound is incredible. Toms sound professionally EQ'd, with basically a flat EQ curve. Really happy I invested the money.

Remarkably well made. The mics themselves are solid as a rock. They're gonna last a long time for sure. The d-clips seem a bit fragile but it's just a mic clip, they're cheap to replace.
The case keeps things organized, the clips, clamps, and right angle cables allow for a lot of freedom in placement without intruding on the player.
These sound great. I'm sold on all the "D" mics, however I need to do some more a/b's with the i5's and SM57's. The D6 sounds huge. These are definetly worth saving up for. I a/b'ed them with a set of the fusion series and the dp-7 set blew them away.
