I've had my MixCubes about a month or two now. They are probably one of the most intriguing pieces of gear I own. The reason is they kinda sound like trash. But, that seems to be the point. I have nicer, wider-range, higher quality monitors; but, after taking a listen in the car, iPhone, laptop, etc., there are usually some adjustments to be made. The MixCubes help avoid that step by tuning you into a frequency range that caters more toward lower/middle-end listening devices, which could save a lot of time and smoothen workflow. I'm still getting to know them, but they've improved my production noticeably already. If you're considering making the purchase, I would highly recommend adding a monitor controller to your order - unless you have a console/control surface that has it built in, of course. My surface only has one set of monitor outs, so it's a bit inconvenient to have to switch it manually. I'll definitely be picking up a Baby RAM.

They have a dull high end and conpletely absent bottom end, giving you a perfect pallete for helping clean up the midrange in a mix. The best way to describe them would be like a high quality version of those $20 cd player stereos.

Nothing more to it. The MixCube offers the analog to the multitude of hollow speakers that we hear most of our music through today and provides the perfect reference. If it sounds good here, it will sound good anywhere...

My mono & stereo mixdowns are easier and faster to do now. I've had them for several weeks and they have quickly become my "C" ref monitors. Just the right amount of wattage and full-range make them absolutely amazing.

Before i started using the Avantone Pro Active MixCubes i would always struggle with the way my mixes were coming out on smaller speakers like cellphones laptops and some car systems, because they use to sound ok in the car and larger speakers and now after using the Avantone Pro Mixcubes i'm getting better results and it has proven to be a very helpful tool.

These Monitors sound like Crap ! Lol...And true Professionals know that’s a sign of a great Monitor. I create compositions for Television. I usually create late at night and needed some good monitors that weren’t to loud but wasn’t chessey and these hit the mark !

these babies sound GREAT. i use them in mixing AND mastering. the midrange is what alot of independent music suffers from. i THINK i should have purchased the Auratones BUT i will get those VERY soon also. yes they DO deliver. the volume notch slots are cool too. finally the slip resistant material under the bottom makes them stackable on your regular studio monitors when switching back and forth. they PROBABLY outweigh apair of your passive monitors too. lol

No matter what these will sound like complete garbage and that’s the beauty of the Avantone Mixcubes!!! If anything sounds good on these they will sound amazing on any other speakers you play music on!!!

I haven't fully broken these in yet but they helped me get my instruments/vox sitting in the right spot for the digital era we are now in. I do wish they sounded better sonically though.

So far the mixcubes are holding up and look well made.
The only features is the on and off switch and gain knob.
They are extremely easy to use but you need to break them in before use. I broke mine in for almost two days with a cd set on loop.
These sound like crap but that is what its suppose to do. They are meant as a secondary reference with your main monitors.
I have not had them long but they are really well made out of quality parts. These speakers should last long.
Your general opinion of this product.
You can't go wrong with these..
