This Drum Pedal has the best drum sounds! Sounds very authentic because they actually used real drums. It only sounds digital if you choose it to. Very easy to use and what's best is you can run it through your computer and download songs all drummed out or you can create your own or modify what you have! Yeah,.. worth every penny live and even at home in studio. Worth the investment and then some! Oh,.. forgot,.. you can sync it to a loop pedal via midi and really get crazy live! Woo Hoo! I'm having a blast!

This product does way more than I was expecting. It is worth every penny and makes you feel like your playing with other musicians.

Just got mine a couple days ago. I have been using it to practice and try out songs I am writing. It is easy to use but still getting the hang of it. It has a lot of patterns programmed onto it already. I am excited to check out the library online to see what it has and to program my own beats. It is also nice that is has genres that I don’t usually play to mix things up.

What a cool product. I ran my helix into it then into my Audio interface. I listen with monitor headphones.
It sounds so real, it never gets tired, it will play as many fills as you want, or any speed you want. You can turn up or down the volume (try that with a real drummer)
I haven't even opened the instruction manual yet lol.
I recommend to anyone who plays an instrument, doesnt have to be guitar.

This is a good drum pedal that is easy to learn and use. It seems a little expensive for what it is, but it is a quality built piece of equipment. I bought it about the end of April 2021 and I have had fun learning to use it. It is hooked up to my Voicelive 3 and has a midi connection. The drum sounds are realistic. I buy alot of equipment from AMS and have had good service with them. Final thought............thumbs up!

The selection of various rhythms make the beat buddy a companion to song writers and recording artist.If your learning or writing a song you have a drummer at you beckon call. It takes a bit of study to use the beat buddy via midi or down loading but the effort is well rewarded, I have had it 3 years and yet to discover all it's capabilities.Drummers are hard to find up in the north-woods of Wisconsin and the beat buddy fills in the void nicely. properly connect to a pa and it will handle a show better then the real deal.

I have used drum machines over the years, and the biggest pain was to learn how to program them which took away from the music making progress. Yes the Beat Buddy has drum beats already made. But there are so many options that you can almost find anything you want. You can create songs in minutes and have fun doing it. You can also record the drums into a DAW and it is very easy to do. The new Beat buddy manager for MAC or PC allows more options and more complex song creation. The sound is super and ease of use is fantastic. I had this unit of of the box for 15 minutes and already recorded a drum track for it. I was able to find a drum track (Song) that fit a new song I was working on. Sometimes simple is better and this fits the bill.

My primary usage is for silent practice and recording. The sound quality and visual metronome were key features for me, but the ability to edit/create your own tracks using the Beat Buddy Manager via SD Card is the strongest feature, and will help ensure a long life on my pedalboard.
Beat Buddy is geared towards live performance and the large footswitch is easy to use. I also bought the optional Footswitch+ which gives you a very useful "hands free" operation, but it's a little pricey at just under $50...and this is my only nitpick: why not replace the large single switch on the pedal with the 2 Footswitch+ switches? Seems there is enough space and would eliminate the extra cost and pedalboard real estate needed for the Footswitch+.
Overall, I recommend the Beat Buddy w/ Footswitch+, as it performs as advertised and will improve your groove skills at the same time.

My 16 year old daughter is a vocalist rhythm guitar player in a band. They are without a drummer which is a reoccurring theme. So I bought her the Beatbuddy pedal so she could work on songwriting and create music on her own in the meantime. She is having an absolute blast right out of the box! The ease of use blew me away. Best $299 ever spent. She loves this and it's fun to see her so excited about creating music.

Great little drum machine with lots of options and features. Rock drums are some of the best I've heard from a machine. Editing is a great feature but the software needs some improvement so that's why it's not 5 stars. I believe they will be making their software and editing tools better soon.

I am old school and not very patient with pedals. This is the ultimate pedal for a solo gig, or of the drummer drinks a few too many. The customer service is awesome and this is a really easy to use pedal. Been playing original music for 30+ years, lots of good punk patterns and if your a jazzer, you'll be firing the overpaid drummer that you have to bid on to do your gig instead of his buddies.

I've always been in a band. Always. I never wanted to do the solo acoustic thing because I always found it a bit boring after about 10 songs. Along comes the BeatBuddy by Singular Sound and all of a sudden I'm changing my mind about that. It's a Drum Machine (but so much more) in the shape of a Guitar Pedal, or as I call them...Stomp Boxes! The basic model comes loaded with dozens of different drum kits and different styles of beats and rhythms. You can also purchase other drum kits and actually songs by assorted artists and bands. You start the song by pressing the well constructed pedal on the lower half. You tap it to add fills and press and hold to go to the next part of the song. For instance...I stomp that pedal to start, press again for a fill, hold and press to advance to the next part and then double tap for the ending. The screen actually shows the (adjustable) BPM as the song is playing. If you hit the pedal too soon..no worries. It'll wait until the exact measure to change...sweet. Well lit, easy to read screen that changes colors with the different parts of the songs is another great feature. The three knobs above the pedal control the volume, Drum Set, and Tempo. There are arrow buttons resembling N, S, E, and W with a square "enter" button in the center. Scroll and Choose your setting. There is a 4 gig SD Card included that has all sounds pre-loaded. You can purchase a premium card loaded with everything they have for a couple hundred bucks. Well worth it. Go to the singular Sound website. It comes with instructions, but you'll want to join the forums and become a part of the BeatBuddy family. Great learning tools and extra drums sets, beats, and songs created by regular members available to regular members (all you have to do is ask them, and sometimes just download whatever they have to offer). These sounds, beats, drum sets, and songs are managed by software that resembles a common DAW (Digital Audio Workstation i.e. Pro Tools, Studio One , Nuendo, Digital Performer, etc.) that you simple download from the website for free. Then you can actually Edit and Create your own beats and songs.
Ok...now for some truth. This Pedal was made by a Guitar Player. Maybe with some input from Bass players and Keyboardists, but definitely a guitar player. How do I know? There is a buzzed, Drunk, and Wasted setting...yes. You heard me. Get the pedal...try the setting. The flashbacks may be disturbing and hard to shake. Good Luck.
Cheers to Singular Sound for creating one of the greatest guitar pedals of all time. A must have for any solo artist who needs to spice up that boring acoustic set. Ho Hum. Yawn.

It’s a neat little gadget. Good for practice. Be prepared to have a dedicated power source for it because throwing on a daisy chain probably won’t work. As far as playing live with it. Unless you build all of your songs around one drum beat, or you do your show sitting down and don’t mind bending over all the time to set up the beats for the next song it’s really not practical. Probably not keeping this one. Relax and breathe easy drummers your jobs aren’t being threatened

In the studio or live, we often use drum machines at the request of our Recording Artists. Up till now most drum machines played in "Perfect Time" making them sound like machines. Because these drums were played by real drummers, they give the whole production sound like the drummer is right there in the room. I love the fact that you can buy and load different drums sounds and pre-programmed songs . . . AND IT'S A PEDAL. The beat Buddy is truly AWESOME!!!

Beat Buddy was both better and worse than I expected. The quality of the drums is amazing and you have plenty of options. However, if your looking to use this for recording or for a live set...be prepared to be disappointed.
Don't get me wrong it is amazing and having hands free is a real plus but my only real problem is that it is not easy to switch to another drum style/set. You half to stop all that you are doing and physically set the knobs and tempo which takes sometime. If your looking to jam out with a background set of drums then this is for you. If you think you can use in a live performance and such...then look for something else. It takes too much time to find a new style and you can't set it up to switch at a press of the footpad. I still very much recommend this because it is still very useful. Also, I would also prefer to have a little more than three fill-ins before it repeats. But that's just me.

If you're like me, a guitarist without a drummer, you can't go wrong with this unit. It is set up like a pedal(win), and not a lot of thought to get it going(win). So right out of the box your jamming. So after 2 or 3 hours of playing I started to get interested in what this could do, and let's just say it is incredible. Your only limitation is you. The more I followed the rabbit into the hole the more it became clear...! This was my answer to my ad's of "drummer needed to jam". And you will not be disappointed with the sounds, and do yourself a favor buy the pedal switch, that is the cherry on top. In fact I'll bet the only member of your band that won't like this is..... your.... drummer.(NOT A WIN.) But if your situation is like mine, this thing is sweet.

I had done a little bit of research on the Beat Buddy before making this purchase. Most all reviews were positive and rightfully so! It’s everything you need to make practicing more exciting. It’s easy to use right out of the box and I assure you this, you will be coming up with more original ideas than ever before simply because it will inspire you like crazy. If you’re on the fence about spending the money, JUST DO IT!! Be sure to get the foot switch pedal too. You will be glad you did.

After months of hemming & hawing, I pulled the trigger and bought this. The good - helluva lot of fun, easy to learn to use, built like a tank and sounds great! I've had it about a week now, and it's a keeper. The bad - the BeatBuddy Manager software is ridiculous. Assembling your own songs isn't too bad, but still clumsy. Importing your own tracks is nearly impossible, especially if you want to add bass. The forums have people who have done it, and I kind of get how they do it, but it's absurdly tedious (these people have WAY more time than I do). With user friendly software, it's an easy 5 stars.

Still messing around with this very cool stomp box drum machine, but am really stoked about it. I demo’d with my band mates and have bass and keyboard players wanting to ‘borrow’ it. yeah right! I actually got it to work into my home studio system, but have taken to some practice sessions and used it effectively to help develop arrangements we were working on. Good stuff! And the owner actually responded personally to an email I sent...what the ???

Physically it seems to be built really well so far. As for its ability, it is exactly what I needed and more! Please note that you do need to pay extra and get the foot switch in order to put stops or extra symbol crashes on your song. I bought this mainly for recording songs and I find it to be great! Wish I had one 10 years ago!

I have a DR880. It is awesome, but very time consuming to program. I bought the BeatBuddy for simplicity. I've only used it for a few minutes, and overall it is exactly what it is advertised to be. The main thing I do not like is the kick drum sound. It is far below the quality of kick drums today. To me it sounds more like a paper bag than a quality kick drum. I did not see a good option for changing it either. Hopefully, with further time to play and research, that will be an option. If so, it's going to make me sell my DR880. But for now, I'll keep the DR880.

Fun and interesting pedal to use. Little bit of a learning curve for me (computer illiterate ) but there's a lot of information in the forums. Seems put together very well, sturdy and rugged. Easy to start to use. I'd recommend it.

This is such a cool pedal...how did they get the drummer in such a small Chasis??? You can create your own beats through the manager...you can purchase waves midis from Groove Monkey for a cheap price and they support the Beatbuddy...but the pedal come w a lot of possibility right out of the box. Super easy to use I was playin as soon as i plugged it in...get the foot switch if you get this pedal well worth it as you can program it for any possible situation...Great technology sounds real not mechanical...great for timing...no more metronomes...awesomeness...

I was on the fence about buying the Beat Buddy. I read the reviews, I thought about it for quite awhile and took the plunge. Well worth it. The BB user forum is a huge resource to take the edge off the learning curve and to share songs, tips and tricks and build on your song collection. I have had it for about 2 weeks and I already have over 100 songs loaded and built in my gig list. Not just the pre-loaded songs, but dedicated songs with all the parts to make it real. I have been practicing with the changes and it is getting to be second nature. It does take some practice. If you want to have a completely automatic drummer, hire one or use prerecorded tracks. The beat buddy allows you to jam extra long on a solo or cut it short. It's up to you. Everything that is special in a performance takes some practice. If you're a musician, you already know that. I am truly inspired by this thing. The price of admission is well worth it. Buy it. Just buy it.

This is a true all-in-one accompaniment machine. Not just good for rehearsal but for solo performances like coffee house, small room or leading worship.
One WARNING!: Don't daisy chain the power supply with other pedals. Even though the voltage, polarity and amperage are the same - for some reason the pedal screams and makes modem - like noises when your power supply chain is connected to other items. It can be plugged into the same power source, but you MUST use the individual DC adaptor that is included with the Beat Buddy.

I have owned all the under $500 drum machines over the years and this one is the best up to now. The sound engine is perfect. The pedal configuration is great. Lots of interesting stuff to make the drums sound real.
This unit is performance based as stated. It works well within that concept. The SD configuration is a great idea. I have had the unit less than a week. I look forward to digging into the software. I am hoping they have some firmware updates to make the pedal better in reference to the extension pedal. I will leave feedback there as well.
