Battery-fails will wreck a gig

Product Review The big button either cuts in the controls or cuts them out, allowing an unimpeded signal path. OK. The problem is, it seems, that when your battery is going south, the voltage needed to keep the thing latched into "control mode" is not around. I put the K&K pickup system into a high-end 000. With the guitar on stage while someone else played, it would un-latch and create a huge acoustic feedback. There is no "low battery" indicator. Change batteries every week just in case? I don't think so. Were I to redesign this (1) there would be a low-battery light (2) the button would be a mute. I mean there is a blend knob - who needs a button? (3) I'd make the knobs bigger with clearer pointers. So, ok at home, but not one for the road. I've had it well over a year but just put it into use after the K&K installation.

Product Review From my 100.00 cheap acoustic electric to my more expensive guitars it adds tons of warmth and YES it does work wonders...It makes your acoustic sound acoustic, basically i put all knobs at 12 o'clock for starters and played..off first and then on...the sound without tweaking was warm and fuller, some adjusting was made later and it depended on the guitar I used (pre-amped or just basic passive undersaddle),either way it enhances the tones..LOVE IT.

Product Review My Taylor 214CE sounds beautiful on its own and it would take a lot from a pre-amp to make it sound better. Having said that, this does a more than serviceable job and if you work it right, it can bring out some great tone

Product Review It's ok I mean it works as described but not to noticable of an accoustic sound in my opinion. But I'm still playing with it maybe I'll find it's sweet spot yet

Product Review I ran my Martin throughthe pedalinto my Fender acoustisonic90 and after a couple of minutes tweeking iy I found the sweetspot. It cleaned up the harshness nicelyand took away some of the "processed" sound pretty well. Next, I plugged it into my Fender Excelsior tube amp. Suprise! I did'nt have to touch a thing. It sounded good with the same settings I used for the solid state amp. I did'nt give it 5 stars because I think it could use a couple of basic effects like chorus and reverb. All in all, the pedal doesthe job. Well worth the $30 investment.

Product Review You certainly get more than you pay for with this pedal. It's a decent preamp for acoustic guitar, although it doesn't have the detailed sound you get from more expensive units. You lose some of the "shimmer." But you gain a solid, controlled volume boost, as well as a compression that helps with piezo pickups. The construction is actually quite solid. I think it'll hold up fine on the road. Overall I'm happy I got it. It gives me what I needed.

Great acoustic, jazz and string bass tones & DI

Product Review First, this is a necessary DI with volume for my K&K passive pickup acoustics. Through the PA, it is very quiet and transparent. In recording, it is about the same hum as my Shure57 mic. Second, it's more than a DI with interesting tones ranging from bluegrass, country, folk, jazz, and alt for my guitar. Even string bass for my fretless acoustic bass. This is a must have for solo performing acoustic guitarist, and a great backup for those with higher-end DI boxes.

Product Review Works great with various tone options. Mellow to spanky with a touch of overdrive. The only drawback is battery operation. I had mine hooked up for maybe 20 minutes and it killed a new Duracell 9v. I have since used it with an adapter and no issues.

Does a good job

Your general opinion of this product. It is built very solidly and does a good job of shaping the tone. I use it with both acoustic guitar and ukulele with undersaddle pickups. It does a very good job of getting rid of the piezo quack from the pickups.
