QUALITY: Solidly build. The buttons have some feedback to them looks like it will last years. The faders rock a little side to side (millimeters) but no worse than any other flying fader board I have worked with before. Solid steel bottom and plastic top. Weighs only 10 pounds
FEATURES: The best part about this one was the Makie Control Emullation. It works just like a Mackie controller costing 1000 bucks. It works flawlessly with my Cubase SX. You get 2 of these side by side and now you have 16 faders to work with! A lot of bang for the 200 bucks! I love the fader flip option to graphicly control 8 bands of eq with the fader positions. Very sweet! I'm only using it to control Cubase right now, but I'm going to try mixing midi on my Triton here soon. I could not get it to work transmitting midi messages so I gave up on that and went directly to USB control.
EASE OF USE: After learning of the Mackie Control emulation online

QUALITY: very good quality. usb driver for windows needs more testing, even version 1.1.1.1 still bluescreens for me, but I'm working with behringer support to work this problem out.
FEATURES: amazing, just wish it had a jog dial. flying faders and very intuitive led-based knobs, just fantastic.
EASE OF USE: very easy and obvious, HOWEVER you need to pay attention to the pdf manual update in 1.07 updater file. It has the mackie and hui emulation layouts in it, so print it out or you'll be lost. Also use the windows onscreen display program (Free download from them) cuz it'll explain stuff as you go along too.
VALUE: can't be better. as good as gear twice as pricey as this.
SOUND: my mixes sound great thanks to not wasting time with the mouse any more.
STYLE: classical, rock, pop, experimental
MUSIC EXPERIENCE: pro musician and engineer

QUALITY: It feels durable. The rotary knobs feel a little average. Faders feel good, long throw, barley noticable noise. A touch louder than the DIGI 002 Mixer. Overall, I was surprised, better than I thought for Behringer. Got's the Girth.
FEATURES: Holy S**T! After downloading the updated firmware and running in Baby HUI mode, It RAWKS!. Exactly the same features as a Baby HUI, perfect. Runs great in PTLE and DP 4.52. Absolutley could NOT be happier.
EASE OF USE: Took a while to set up for DP4.5. Apparently you have to set up a dummy device in AudioMIDI (OSX) and not use USB and not use the Default that Auto Configs. After downloading the firmware and figuring the midi out, it took about 4 sec. for DP to find it. And works great. Downloading the BabyHUI manual from Mackie helps explain the features, and what does what. Seriously, It's a Baby HUI now.
VALUE: I got mine for $189 @ GC and would have paid

QUALITY: 4 Very well made and just the right size. Has held up lovely for the 5 months I've had it so far. It should last until I move into a MCU for the bigger bucks. Worst thing I've had to deal with is the fader are loud at 1st.
FEATURES: 4 Best feature for me is the Mackie Control mode, let's you get right to work without playing with learn function. Least impressive feature would have to be the litte rubber feet pad that most of you will throw away never knowing you had any in the box...lol. Should have been bigger and screw attached. But what I would really add is a Rec button and a jog dial, so I can really give the mouse a break.
EASE OF USE: 4 Very easy to use for what I intended to do with it in Cubase SX 2.2 but, other products were not so straight forward. Some of that is because I don't use much else but Cubase SX 2.2. but the MCU emulation should take care of it in most cases, I had it running with my DAW in minutes. The |
