Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? For 25 bucks I'm not expecting anything amazing, but the plastic housing does feel a little cheap. Reliability How has it stood up over time? So far so good. I wanted something I could keep at work, so inexpensive-ness was a factor. General Your general opinion of this product. Not bad. Pretty good value for the money, but if you can afford something better, I'd go for it. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? When holding it, it does feel a little light and flimsy, but it seems to hold up well enough. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Personally I don't like the way the distortion sounds. It sounds a little too electric and nasally. However of course I realize that the actual sound of the distortion is subjective; it might be the perfect sound for you, just not for me. But it is pretty impressive that it has a sweepable mid. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Not crazy about the hot pink, but it makes it easy to find in the dark. Action How was the action out of the box? I find the knobs to be a little stiff, but once I get them where I want them it plays fine.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I think Behringer is a good company and makes good products so I don't think it would fail because it was "poorly made". Though knowing that, you have to take into account that the pedal IS plastic and designed with value in mind over robustness. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Don't know about this. Some of the design mechanics are a little suspect and it is made of plastic but experience tells you cannot judge on that alone. I've had "sturdy" units break down for no real reason and "flimsy" ones carry on through adversity. All I know of Behringer reliability in the long run is that I have a Eurorack mixer which is about 10 years old and still kicking. General Your general opinion of this product. For $30 this cannot be beat. If you're looking for a versatile metal/hard rock distortion box, this is it. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The sound does play well; feels natural and jumps off the strings. I've used some distortions which just felt "off" in their attack or the way the sound resonated. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Well, like I said before it sounds "like a rectifier". I don't have a Boss Metal Zone around to compare the two directly but some people have (check YouTube). It compares favorably to the rect. sound on my J-Station, though I think I actually like it a little better. One thing I do notice about the sound is that it seems to have some extra compression on it. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Doesn't look quite as loud in person. Besides being made of plastic the pedal looks nice and I love Behringer's blue LEDs. Action How was the action out of the box? The pedal action is a little odd but it works. Knobs are nice and tight and feel sturdy.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? They don't have the best pots. I know a lot of people complain about the plastic cases however they make motorcycle helmets, auto body parts, etc. out of plastic. We ARE talking about a pedal that is less than $25. You could buy 4 of these for the price of a Boss with change left over. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Have not had it very long but the other Behringer pedals I have still work like new. General Your general opinion of this product. An inexpensive pedal that is easy to dial in great tone. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? A friend has the Boss MT2. We compared them with several guitars and amps. We both thought they sounded identical. If you want suggested settings download the Boss MT2 manual. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? In my opinion it is an odd UGLY color of red. Action How was the action out of the box? The on off pedal and the pots work smoothly.
