was looking for power amp head with no colorizing, modeling, etc.,something that i could create signature tones with using my own designed pedal set-ups.with just two channels,LOUD,& F'N LOUD,(RIGHT ON FRONT PANEL WRITTEN JUST AS I HAVE),I WAS ABLE TO DO THE SIGNTURE SOUND CREATIONS.powerful, and it needs a well built cabinet to carry this amazingly strong machines 5 alarm firepower.

This thing seems to be built like a tank. The specs show this amp to made of quality parts, ceramic tube sockets... nice!

Awesome! Can't believe that this much quality went into a low priced amp.

Gee... this review form thinks this is a guitar....
Tone

Hmmmm... I thought the tone question was already answered above. Oh well, I'll just add that this thing is LOUD! They aren't kidding when they labeled one channel "Loud" and the other channel "F'n Loud" ... cause it is!

Prettiest amp head I think I have seen.

It's an Amp not a guitar... LOL All the knobs are smooth and switches feel nice and stiff... like they are made sturdy.

I've had the head for 2 weeks and haven't gigged with it yet, but, as I said above it is very well constructed. The only concern may be the unprotected corners when loading in and out of a club.

The BH100H is solidly built, great workmanship. The head I purchased was manufactured in 2009 and doesn't have the "Crate" logo on the front right of the chassis or have any protective corners as indicated by the pictures. But, for the sound, quality, amount of features this head has and price paid one could easily overlook the lack of corner protectors.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Has a tighter feel with the Class A/B 100/50 watt settings and a looser spongy feel using the Class A 30/60 watt settings.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Great clean tones to AC/DC drive on the Loud channel. The F'n Loud channel covers bluesy tube tones to heavier classic rock...put a Boss SuperOverdrive (or equivalent) in the front end to push it over the edge for extreme metal tones.

'had hi-expectations because I own and love the BH5 and BH15 heads. But the BH100 is lacking in one area: poor low end punch and low end clarity. Low or Hi volumes, it just doesn't come close to vintage amps or the BH15H. full bass setting on either channel won't get it for you. Quality bass is necessary in nearly every style of music. Recommendation, until this is re-engineered your best bet is to buy 2-BH15H's and be in heaven like I am. Otherwise the BH100 is built like a tank and hopefully will be updated into the most rockin' 100 watter for under $900.

This is the best amp I've owned. It blows away the Marshall MA series, and the Vox ACP series amps that I have owned. I was able to get this amp for $399, and even at $499 it would be money well spent. No way you can tell it's built in China. Finally I have a keeper!
