this product is a good multipurpose mic. Very dependable Low noise makes recording acoustic guitar sound so good especially in the digital world. i would not add anything to mic it is good as is somewhat easy. had to buy a boom for stand tho. Manual had good advice on where to place mic. very pleased overall. Sound is fantastic. Low noise. this mic shines on acoustic instruments (12 string classical and and 6 string acoustic guitars. Your general opinion of this product. Had mic over six months. Very reliable. Thank you AMS for easy payment plan.

Construction of the microphones leave a little bit to be desired. It's not bad by any means, but I definitely feel if I dropped it I'd stand a big chance of breaking it. Internally, if you vibrate the mic with your hand, you can hear a light squeaking noise inside. I have noticed this very slightly in other mics, even the 4033, but it's much worse with the Bluebird and could possibly be from the Chinese manufacturing of these. The shockmount isn't so great either. I hate the clip design, and you need to clamp it over the metal plate on the back bottom of the mic, or the mic will slip right down. it doesnt hold it tight enough. Also, the tightening mechanism on the shockmount will easily slip if you don't really really really tighten it down with your fingers. i've noticed if you tighten it slightly lower than you want the mic, and you physically pull the cage up it helps lock it in. Kind of a pain, but it works. For features, it really doesn't have any. I kind of like it this way. I don't want all my mics to have switches and things. I have enough buttons to contend with in my chain. :) You might call the pop filter a feature. I don't use it. It's kind of weird, and isn't very convenient or quick to take off and put on. It's quite tedious actually. I think the mic looks better without the pop filter on it anyway. The pop filter makes it looks borderline cheesy. It's easy. Again, no features like rolloffs or pads. You just plug it in and go. The sound is where I'm 110% SOLD. As should be with any microphone. This has become THE microphone I use with my Taylor 810 acoustic guitar (with an RNP preamp). Previous, i could not get any mic to sound right with my 810, including the AT4033 which a lot of people swear by as a great acoustic mic. The slight eq scoop the Bluebird has levels out my Taylor in a beautiful way. It also serves as an excellent vocal mic when I find the AT4033 to be a tad aggressive for the vocal I'm working on. The Bluebird is ever so slightly more mellow. For the price, this thing is an absolute steal. I might pick up a second one for stereo micing my acoustic upright piano. All in all, I'm willing to take the hit on the shockmount and build quality to get this sound this price. You can always think up workarounds for shoddy shockmounts, but you can't workaround a bad sounding mic without using another one. Thankfully with the Bluebird, there's no need to do the latter. This thing is sweet.
