This pedal can be set warm and wild. Sounds great with a little distortion and is loud. With the gain turned up this pedal responds well and cuts through. Brings out the tone to classic rock. Fun pedal to play with.

Cool classic pedal. Gain levels go from very light John Mayer kind of OD to practically fuzz levels of gain. Works really well low gain with high volume to push a tube amp at edge of break-up over the top. Only giving 4 stars because I didn't fully bond with it, i.e., it ended up not working well with my guitar/amp/pedalboard combo. Worked well with other setups at home, just not the right fit with my live setup (Gretsch 5420T -> BD -> SD1 -> Blues Jr).

This pedal has added a totally different sound to my playing. Blues isn’t my main style but its given me the opportunity to shape my sound in a different way using a Tele or Strat. I didn’t know my Teles could growl a bit more but still not lose that bluesy sound.

For years I’ve heard about the Boss Blues Driver but always passed it up for tube screamer and/or higher priced OD pedals. I decided to rebuild my pedalboard but, didn’t want to spend too much. So, based on reviews of the blues driver, here on AMS, I decided to give it a try. Well, man was I pleasantly surprised! This is a fantastic OD pedal, far better than any comparable OD pedal I’ve used in the past. I did a gig with it 2 days after it arrived; my tone was amazing ! With AMS you can’t go wrong! I won’t buy from any other!

It came with a spent battery inside. The LED light didn't seem like it was working until I plugged an adapter to it. Every video I heard with this pedal sounded great with the guitars played. When I hooked it up to my guitars it didn't sound anything like the videos. No matter what I did, I could never duplicate any of the sounds. I tried it with electric Ovation, Fender and Ibanez guitars. It sounded muddy with little presence. Even with no distortion it sounded scratchy. I never put it into my pedal board. Not worth the money even though it was $10 cheaper than usual. Pedal in decent shape.

This thing drives a little harder than my TS808 and doesn’t seem to change the shape of the tone as much as the screamer. Definitely way more gain in this box too.
This pedal is ideal for a shoegaze sound, just the eighth amount of noise and grit on 7 chords, 9 chords, and 11 chords. It doesn’t have as much sustain as other drive and distortion pedals I’ve used, but it plays well with other pedals, so this shouldn’t be a problem even for solos and leads.

Great basic drive pedal

Product Review
I like that this doesn’t get muddy like a lot of drive pedals do, but it can get shrill if the tone is up too high. I’m using this as a basic drive pedal to add just a touch of grit to an otherwiise clean sound. The gain is all the way down, the level is at noon, and tone is at 11. There’s is an EP booster hitting the front of the chain, and the BD-2 is right after the wah. It gets pretty close to the sound of an amp just barely breaking up, and even kind of responds like it too. I don’t know if it’s the best drive pedal for what I’m using it for, but it’s working for me right now

This pedal has graced my music abilities farther over the top of where I had expected it to take me. Slow mild Blues tone to the more distorted jungle rage fast on the edge of oblivion of what seems like metal tones with a push of my overdriven sustain solo's, man I cannot tell you enough about the versatility of this Boss pedal.

Well, I bought one about 8 years ago. Then I packed it away for six years while I was traveling around the country for an unrelated job. When I finally reunited with this pedal, I plugged it back into my old SKB pedalboard, turned up the drive, and gave myself an aural climax. It was yummy!
See above - 8-plus years and still sounds like a dream. Very durable and gushy, creamy sweet sound.
Your general opinion of this product.
I'm very pleased.
It is just a stomp- box, after all. It can't compete with a Marshall stack or Fender blackface, but this is about as good as it gets for a pedal if a warm, bluesy tone is what you're after.
Controls are very idiot-proof (good thing for me!!)
Wonderful tone. Lots of versatility but it doesn't muddy the tone from your guitar.
It goes from sweet and clean all the way to dirty, screaming banshee, with every degree of crunch and growl in between.
Really? This question for a stomp-box??
Again ... it's a stomp-box.

QUALITY:
Its a Boss pedal...if you've bought Boss pedals before, you know you don't have to worry about quality. I'm half tempted to try running over one with a car to see if it does any damage, I bet it'd survive.
FEATURES:
It does what it advertises. Theres not a million bells & whistles or anything, just set that one tone & you're good to go. Not sure how many other features you need.
EASE OF USE:
Piece of cake! 3 knobs & stomp away...the book even has examples of various tones you can acheive. Thats one of the reasons I've always liked boss pedals.
VALUE:
Well, it ain't cheap. But cheap pedals are frequently dry sterile sounding solid state noise coming out of a plastic box that you're scared to stomp on when playing. The quality of this things tone & the durability of its build are definately worth what they charge.
SOUND:
I was bummed by its sound. I almost never use it. There are so man

I love this thing! I got it off ebay for $38 w/free shipping! What a bargan! I use it all the time. Right now I have created my own special amp modeling setup. I have the BD-2 running into an old Toneworks AX1G guitar processor and then into a Behringer GI100 direct box with cab simulation. even without the AX1G, I get a very good amp simulation. The AX1G has delay, EQ, modulation effects, it's own distortion, and a few other things. But the 2 prize winners are the BD-2 and the GI100. Very smooth sounding distortion!!! ;-)

QUALITY:
It's great! Everything is well made in this thing, it has a great quality! The jacks don't make noise when you pull/put a cord (it maybe do a little noise, but if you put it with caution it won't).
I've let it fall couple of times, no problems.
FEATURES:
The amazing of this pedal is the control on the overdrive and on the tone, you can create 101 types of sound with just turning 2 knobs.
EASE OF USE:
Just plug, push the pedal, play and adjust the knobs as you like. Piece of cake.
VALUE:
I won't say is cheap, because is not! It's quite expensive, but is probably that is the only pedal that you'll find with this cool sound and quality.
SOUND:
WOW! This pedal sound rocks! You can create many, many, many types of sound which goes to an cool british blues, passing to an american screamy blues to a cool hard rock!
No! It's not for metal players, this has a very smooth and cool sound.
