I have worked professionally in the music industry....I am now able to accomplish in my own home studio what I have in the professional studios in nashville...best part I own it and I can work it until the sound is right at no cost to me.

It is made very well but I would suggest you by the bag to keep it more secure. But yes, it's very dependable. I use it on a table and connect line out to Edirol speakers. You can probably record your entire band rehearsal and gigs, but for me I prefer it to use it indoor to avoid any corrosions and abuse. Compared to Zoom, Tascam, and some of the other digital recording studio machines, I would give this a 5 stars ...for high quality and features they covered for any musicians. I play gtr, ba, and although I don't play drums, with you practices with this machine, you can lay out a good rhtyhm track (and tons of drum sound you can choose).

COSM preamp (tons of effects for Vo, Gtr, Ba, Dr)..plus EZ compose setting allows you to create your backing rhythm track quickly if you want to just record your ideas on track or simply want to jam for practice session.

Similar to the review earlier, there's just so much in this recorder that you can do. If you follow the manual and DVD it's pretty straightforward. Once general recording is completed, the bouncing/mastering part is very ease, thus you can burn your CDR right then vice trying to upload it to your PC with an USB port. You can save, edit, retake, and do so many things with your ideas...

How is its Tone?
Tone is very powerful...for example when you dial up you can choose like Marshall or Ampeg, and you can also adhust it if you prefer. It has several distortion, overdrive, delay, chorus, and tons to your taste. Very satisided.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Very reliable, if you want to create your band demo or simply want to use if for a songwriting purposes. Phantom power with vocal take (also has several features like chorus take, effects, etc.). Pitch control and more...

I had Boss Br-600, which was okay..except it was lacking some of the quality this 1200 version had. My buddy of mine has 1600, but he even admitted that this version is ease of use.

This recorder is perfect for singer songwriters wanting a fully produced CD, with all the tools you need built into this unit one person can easily go from Point A to a finished song in little time at all. It does so much I wish I would have ordered the DVD Manual when I ordered the recorder, I am ordering it now because this thing does so much I was overwhelmed with the drum section. I had never used a drum machine to lay tracks so I really had to hit the manual to grasp it.

This recorder is easy to use, and the manual is very easy to read and understand. I was recording tracks in a couple of hours after opening the box.

WOW! a great tool, and a blast to use. I have recorded in several large studios in Nashville and in the Tri-State Area here in Ohio, Kentucky,and West Virginia and the finished product I was able to get the first time I laid down a song on this unit was amazing for any price. I am very pleased with this product and the service I have received from American Musicial Supply.
