| Subject: | Good Little Budget Recording Studio |
| Quality:
| I've had mine for nearly 2 years and it is still kicking. I carry it around in the flimsy little cloth carry bag that comes with it and I have not had any problems. I take it to gigs with me in a case with my microphones and various cables. It has come through with no problems every time. The sliders, buttons and knobs are all very sturdy. |
| Features:
| My personal favorite feature on this unit is the virtual track feature. Each channel can record up to 8 Vtracks. I overdub multiple takes of my guitar playing until I have one that I am happy with. Other good features include the wide array of guitar effects included in the unit. There are many pre-programmed settings that come stock with this unit. All guitar effects can be tweaked and saved. Very nice features. |
| Ease of Use:
| OK, so this unit is a little complicated to get use to if you want to utilize it to it's full potential. However, you can get started right away recording with it without doing a lot of reading. The longer I've had it, the more familiar I have become with it and the easier it is to use. The only thing that frustrates me now is that the unit goes to sleep after a 10 or 15 minutes and I forget to shut it off and the batteries burn out on me. |
| Sound:
| I have not had any problem with the sound when using the line-in, guitar or external microphone. It is difficult sometimes to dial-in the perfect level when recording externally via microphone but it can be done if you are patient. The unit comes with two built in microphones. They are OK but I prefer to recording with line-in or external mics. |
| Reliability:
| Has withstood the test of time. Fires up every time no problem! Make sure you either have an external power supply or a spare set of batteries though if you plan to take it on the road. Also if you buy this, but a 1GB compact flash card too. The 128 MB card is not big enough. |
| Overall:
| For the price, this unit is well worth the money. I have been taking guitar courses at Berklee and using this to record my assignments then mixing the assignments down on my computer. This unit has been a great tool for me. I also use it to record my band both live and in rehearsals. We've made many a demo with this unit. |
