Being new to playing I was having a hard time dialing in my desired tones on my amp using it's "equalizer" of 3 knobs for treble, bass and middle. No matter how hard I tried it would always take for ever to get it "good enough". Someone suggested I look at an EQ pedal so I started researching and found that the GE-7 from BOSS was pretty popular choice and consistently ranked in the tops of many rankings. The price seemed reasonable so I took the leap and I am damn glad I did! No fancy lights, frills or gimmicky settings needed. Not only is it built to last a lifetime, it's a straight forward legit EQ with excellent functionality. Now I can dial in my desired tones quickly with pinpoint accuracy. Thanks AMS for a great transaction and Thanks BOSS for an outstanding product!

Very impressed with the quality of this pedal. You can really bring alive the tones that are hiding in your amplifier if adjusted right. You will not regret adding this to your pedalboard.runs off of a 9v battery or you can plug it in.

Bought this to fine tune my tone a little. Works great to get your sound just right. Along playing with it, figured out you can use it as a boost also for a good solo with some extra volume. Love everything from Boss. Thank you American Musical for always getting my gear to me cheap, safe, and fast! Buy it, you will not be let down.

Graphic EQ's are the most useful sound enhancer on your board. By putting at the end of the chain in your effects loop you can substantially increase your volume which is great for soloing. Even if you don't have an effect loop you can use it in the same way. For live playing you can pull out curtain frequency to have you guitar stand out in the mix. Increase the volume to level out humbucker's from single coil pickups. It's just super useful for many situations. I highly recommend the Boss as it's an industry standard, easy to power, and is built like a tank.

I’ve never in my lifetime used an EQ pedal. However, it’s probably the pedal that can have the biggest impact on your tone. It has fattened the tone of my Strat and can give your Humbuckers a sparkle. Most importantly it can shape the tone of your Distortion or OD and cut through the mix. This pedal is built like a tank and never leave home without.

The Boss GE-7 Equalizer gives you 7 bands of EQ. It boosts or cuts the chosen band by 15dB. I use the GE-7 to give my mid-range and treble a little boost. It also functions as an overall level boost of + or - 15dB; nice to kick in when you solo.

Had mine for a couple of weeks now and its pretty awesome. You can do a lot of tricks with it including a volume boost for a solo or volume cut or changing the sound for an intro riff to cut bass or treble. I found that it doesn't work well if you don't use it in the effects loop. I thought about returning it because the volume didn't adjust much at all. But when I put it in the effects loop it was a totally different story. I could dial in any sound I wanted. I got it to dial in a mid scooped heavy metal sound that was freaking awesome. My amp already sounded good but now it sounds better.

I use this mostly for my 12 string Ovation ,there are softer spots in many of the songs( finger picking ) I wrote and this gives me control over the tone and volume .
also, I use this when kicking on the overdrive and compression for the electric guitars ,and it brings higher brillant tones to make the sound clearer

QUALITY:
Good quality... had it for 6+ years and the only thing wrong with it is the LED no longer works.
FEATURES:
+-15 dB, goes up to 6.4k and down to 100 hz, excellent for shaping electric guitar tone. Also nice that the sliders click into the neutral position.
VALUE:
It's a bit expensive for an EQ pedal but I know that it will be reliable.
SOUND:
Simply amazing versatility, great for scooping mid-range to give distortion a serious crunch. Not noisy at all in general, although it does make a bit of hiss if you boost any one frequency too much.

Overall, I feel pretty indifferent over this pedal. What I DO really like is the volume boost. I basicall keep all the sliders in the neutral position, but increase the volume just a bit. So when the guitar solo comes around, I just kick on the pedal for a little boost to get me about the rest of the band.

This product is incdredable. I use this with a Marshall stack, with the BOSS MetalZone, BOSS Flanger, and wow, crazy deep sound!

I love how accurate of a sound you can get, what ever sound you need, you can get it!

Up and down, up and down. That's all I have to say! SIMPLE!
VALUE:
This is a great product. I think the price is pretty good. I prob. would pay 130-150 range for this pedal. (I paid 89.99 (Guitar Center)

Boss = Chevy, if you want a Caddy you need to shell out more than $80, but you can drive a Chevy forever

easy to use, it sounds better when used after a OD or distortion, instead of in front of them
VALUE:
cheap price compared to designer pedals
SOUND:
using before modulation effects help keep the noise down. using a tube amp I turn all eq on the amp to 10 and sculpt my sound with the Ge-7 (setting amp eq any less than 10 only rolls off the frequencies your trying modify, and you don't get to hear the full benifits of the GE7, your amp will sound louder and individual notes will sound crisper)

boss quality is always of good construction.My only complaint is the white rubber cover knobs eventually come off.
