LOVE THIS!!!
Bill Thompson from Great Falls, MT, USA
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It seems to be well made. It's responsive and does what it says it can do.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
It's light weight and plastic. I haven't had it long enough to know how reliable it will be 2 years from now.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
At first, it seems the price is high, but once you understand everything the eband does and the quality sounds and features built into it, then you will understand that you're getting what you pay for. The tracks and modeling amps in JS8 are worth the price in themselves.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
It's very light, compact and the controls are very easy to figure out.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
I'm afraid that my Peavey Vypyr modeling amps/effects and my sanpera II foot switch may not get as much use now that I own the Boss eband JS8
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The finish is plastic and it looks great. If it lasts 3 years I'll be happy.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
If you turn off the solo button, the unit automatically assigns a guitar amp with effects that sound appropriate for the track selected.

This unit KICKS A$$ !!! AMS make the the price a little easy to swallow with the flex pay !!!! This unit has a ton of tunes and effects. My Strat and my Les Paul sound great through this thing...I find myself losing track of time when I start jamming.

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It seems to be pretty solid. I wouldn't use it as a doorstop, but it'll last for years with normal use.
Reliability

So far, so good.

This is a nice little piece of equipment for practicing and learning riffs.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The controls are fairly easy to manipulate while playing. Again, it's a piece of equipment for practice, so quick switching of tones, etc. is not really essential. Everything is nicely laid out and easy to decipher. Don't really need the manual for much.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Speakers sound ok. They don't put out a lot of volume.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
It looks like a radio or an Ipod station.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
It lit up in a warm, welcoming way when I plugged it in.

Boss and Roland products are known for quality. I was one of the earliest purchasers of this product and I'm sure that later models will have fixes.

It has a lot of features. Although given the setup, it appears to favor learning lead licks, it also works for voice, harmonica, mandolin and dobro.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The eBand has to be close by so that you can reach it by hand. The optional foot-switch will only repeat a track, It won't advance to the next. Another problem is the way the eBand reads an SD card or a USB stick. It displays items in the order that they were added to the card or stick and will ignore alphabet or numerical sequence.
Tone

The effects are incredible.
I have not tried using the eBand for recording but the manual says that it can provide this feature. A recording funcion makes the eBand far more of a bargain.
