Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Typical sturdy Boss metal housing, and switches. This is a roadworthy piece of equipment. I've almost had mine a year with no problems, aside from needing to repair a power cord from an unfortunate cymbal incident. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Great. Durable. Typical Boss construction. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Overall, great product. I have little use for all the user presets, which is why I went with the ME 70, as it's pull it out of the box and play. Intuitive design, with just the right features. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Very playable, although if my feet were wide the closeness of the footswitches could be problematic. Functions like any other foot switch, so it's intuitive to use. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Tone, again, can be whatever you desire, from smooth and mellow to bright and hot, or even dark and thick. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Great, speckled black finish....red led's accentuate the black. Action How was the action out of the box? Action is great, the activation switch on the expression pedal is a little rough, at first, but once your used to it it's second nature.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? So far it appears to be holding up well. But then I'm the type of person that takes very good care of my musical instruments and peripherals. The pedals could have been made of a more sturdier rubber coated area instead of the plastic. I would see this being a deciding factor for someone who will use it on nightly or weekly gigs. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I cannot tell right now since I've only had it a few weeks but it seems that it will hold up well if taken care of properly. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Excellent product! This will be the last multi-effects pedal you will ever buy! Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? It's an effects processor it plays what you program into it! Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Lots of tones to choose from and 70 already preset! Need I say more? Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Paint was fine. Action How was the action out of the box? The pedal action was fine. Easy to set up and understand. You will definitely need to read the instructions and have them handy at the beginning. Then the learning curve is not so steep.
The Only Pedal you will ever need.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? It is heavier and more sturdy feeling than the Digitech, it looks like it can take rough care, although I have no intention of testing that out. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Just got it, we will see, it is a Boss. Overall Your general opinion of this product. After researching different pedals, I came to the conclusion that the different modes of the ME-70 were perfect for my needs to explore on the fly and change tones, as well as ease of control through a set pre-programmed set of tones for a given song. The fact that it runs on batteries as well also gave it an advantage over the bigger Boss pedals. The other advantage being the Manual mode that works like individual stomp boxes which makes improvising alot easier. It is well built and looks solid, we will see how it handles the test of time. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Great for improv, especially in manual mode, to adjust on the fly and tweak different effects is nice. Go ahead and purchase the FS-6 footswitch with it now, it makes switching between banks quicker and easier, and makes the whole pedal much more user friendly than it already is. You can switch them without it, but it requires holding down two switches at once for a few seconds and then switching up or down through the sound banks, but the aux. switch makes it a one tap operation, worth it! Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Finish How did the stain or paint job look? It has a nice, easy to read, well contrasted finish and writing. it is easy to read on a dark stage or room with the white on blackish grey backround. Action How was the action out of the box? Pretty good, I adjusted the expression pedal to my liking, which was a plus over out of the box, but that ability is a good thing. All of the pedals and switches work smoothly.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? See reply to Reliability Reliability How has it stood up over time? I've never owned a BOSS product that was tough as nails. Road and gig worthy every time. Overall Your general opinion of this product. I won't pretend that it's sounds like any kind of high end tube amp, but I'm able to bring little more than a guitar or two, this pedal and a few cables to any gig and I'm good to go. I know exactly what I'm going to get every time. My sound never varies and help give my playing confidence since I'm not worried about having to dial in my tone with or without a decent sound check. Pretty well plug and play. I use the Record out straight to the board. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? See reply to Action Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? See reply to both Overall and Sound Finish How did the stain or paint job look? No flaws. Action How was the action out of the box? The action on both the foot switches and the Wah pedal are great. I hate using pedals with little metal "click" buttons. I love the foot pedals that are these BOSS units.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? This box is build like a tank and unless you have destructive tendencies will last as long as a well-loved vintage guitar and amp. Reliability How has it stood up over time? It gets the one-year "still perfect" stamp of approval. Overall Your general opinion of this product. This is my one year evaluation of this product. It has been an exceptional investment. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Everything works as expected with a product from Roland. The pedals are silent and responsive. The Wah is funky and can be used to unleash another level of controlled overdrive. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? You name the tone - the ME-70 will dial-in endless shades of tone. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The finish takes you back to the days of 65 Fender Twins and Echoplex units - its vibe retro and cool... Action How was the action out of the box? If you like the feel of high-grade analog knobs and smooth, quiet, switch pedals, the ME-70 has it.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Typical BOSS quality. Solid feel, weight, and function. Each brand has its inherent quirks, and BOSS is no different. Overall, a well-made product that should stand up to heavy use with a little care. If you bang and throw things in the trunk, be prepared to replace some knobs - there are a lot of them to lose or break. Time will tell, as with all, but it should live. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I've had mine 7 or 8 months, and it hasn't so much as blinked. Knobs are plastic, but decent. Pedal switches seem solid and reliable. If you step on two switches, you will go into an unintentional feature, so accuracy in needed, and the expression pedal seems solid enough. It takes a fair amount of pressure to turn it off or on though. BOSS is well know for reliability, so I don't expect problems, but anything can happen to anything. The more there is, the more there is to go wrong. Such is life. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Very versitile unit that can create usable sounds for any genre of music you want, with or without effects. Want a clean sound, leave the OD/DS unit out of the loop. Use the preamp with COMP and MOD with or w/o the DELAY module. Creamy smooth clean sounds result. Add the OD/DS and you can go from silky smooth blues to screaming defined metal. The ME-70 competently bridges the gap between a limited mess of pedals and full-out rack rigs. I'm pleased and liking what I hear. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Lots of knobs etc. to deal with on a dark stage if you want to get the most out of this unit. Feels solid and has some weight to it - it won't be sliding around. When will the major suppliers of floor-based multi-effects units going to make the expression pedal removable so you can adjust the unit at desk height and operate the actual pedal on the floor, and then be able to solidly conncet it back to the unit for stage work? Are they listening? Would save backs, guitars banging around, and squatting on stage. Plus, you can more easily get some decent presets created with ease and set up the function and action of the expression pedal for when it is attached to the unit. A guy can dream, can't he? They ALL need to be designed this way. I'm willing to fork the extra cash right on over for the ease of use. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The unit itself is very capable of producing wonderful sounds, whether clean, crunch, overdriven, or flat out paint-peeling distortion. The key is what you send it through. Straight into the boad works if the PA system is up to the task. A good tube amp, or any tube amp with an fx loop (just plug into the return, effectively bypassing the preamp coloring of your sound, unless you like the sound that way,)or Tech 21 power amps, will get you creamy smooth sounds. Stereo is the way to go. Be a board hog, or get in the habit of buying 3 of everything to have 1 backup, but stereo is the way to get the most out of any device such as this. People in the stereo field will get it, you can ping-pong a delay and watch the tennis match effect on the crowd and everyone else will get the wet or dry side mostly, unless it's a small venue. Real small. Bar. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Metal chassis that looks nice. BOSS has some odd-looking pedals though. Nice finish, seems durable, and overall a nice-looking unit that's well finished. Action How was the action out of the box? N/A

Just like stop boxes but without all the cables and batteries Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I would trust my boss products over any other company. Companies with the letters D and Z should be taking cues from Boss and parent company roland. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I havent had it that long but ive never had a boss unit fail me. I expect this to be no different. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Boss IMHO is the leader of useful high quality effects built into a unit that can handle the rigors of the road. This unit is no exception. For so long I was looking for a unit that functions like this one. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? This unit is set up like a row of stomp boxes on a pedal board without the hassles that go along with such a setup. Very easy to dial in and experiment. The combinations are limitless. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? You shape the tone with this product. If you cant find a sound that works for you then multi effects units just arent for you. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? excellent. My unit had no finish flaws. Besides you step on it. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Very well made. Heavy duty and solid. Built to travel, built for use. So far, it has worked when needed and has the tones I am looking for. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I've only had the pedal for 3 months, but it has been dependable so far. Overall Your general opinion of this product. I am very satisfied with this product for the overall operation and ease of use. The quality effects available are amazing. Two things I am not pleased with. The pedal does not have a true on/off switch, without unplugging the guitar. I also purchased the recommended FS6 pedal only to learn that I had to buy a STEREO cable at a local radio shack. The cable should have either been included or people should be made aware of this special cable at the time of purchase. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Plays well. All switches and pedal work as advertised. Controls are easy to get to for the changing of your sound. Tone Bright and snappy?
