Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
This looks and feels very well built. No cheap knobs or jacks.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
It's been only a month, but it looks and feels tough.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
This is a good investment. Spend some time with it to learn all it's functions. Like the axe the more often you play the smoother it becomes. Setting the drum tempo to your likeing may take a few times. But dam this is like jamming with the band.

Great practice tool. Looped sound is slightly low-fi compared to the original signal but it's more than adequate for soloing over chords. Has some nice drum tracks on it. Simple and easy to use looper. I'd buy this again if I had too.

I've only had this for a couple of weeks, but it seems pretty sturdy as Boss units typically are.

I wanted a looper for enhanced lead practice and spur of the moment basic composition. The RC-2 delivers the goods. It's amazing what such a small pedal can do. I've already recorded some cool grooves and progressions. In fact, I transferred them to Cubase and worked on one of them separately in Cubase this past week. It turned out to be the coolest song I've ever recorded (a funky/psychedelic song in 6/4). So, IMO, the RC-2 has already paid for itself. I often do my best creating when I'm in front of the TV and not stressing about anything. Of course, I can do all of this on Cubase, but the inspiration can sometimes be lost in the time it takes to turn everything on, compose a drum track, etc. And again, for lead practice it's wonderful. Instead of doodling aimlessly with no beat, it forces you to be dead on time and enables you to practice different chord progressions and key changes. My ONLY complaint is, I wish it had more odd time signature drum beats.

I didn't need delay effects built into my looper. I wanted a small looper that wouldn't take up much space on my pedalboard. Even though there is only one footswitch on the RC-2, it does have the option of plugging in two other unlatched switches for the added features of a tap tempo footswitch as well as a phrase selector.
I did want some drum beats and patterns that I would be able to practice with. It is nice to have two separate volume knobs, one for the drum pattern and one for the recorded phrases, so once you record a phrase, you can turn the drum track off if desired.
With a total of 16 minutes of record time, the RC-2 does a great job allowing me to be able to record long phrases and overdub phrases without having to worry about running out of space.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The only negative thing that I have to say about the playability of the RC-s is that with only one footswitch built in, you can't easily control all of the features of the looper while playing.
I was looking for a small footprint on my pedalboard, and this is one of the sacrifices that I was willing to make.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Tone seems unaffected running through the RC-2.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Nice Fire-truck red finish
