The gain and volume are married together though. You can't just turn the gain all the way up and not NOT have to change the volume and vice versa. The chicken-head knobs are large with smooth pots. The access for upgrade to the speaker is good. The transformer is way bigger than other 5 watt amps. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Using my Schecter CSH-1 mahogany semi-hollow body with Duncan pickups: At a gig yesterday, whenever I shifted from guitar to piano, my partner kept stealing this amp to play lead (leaving behind a much more expensive amp) - she was a session player in Las Vegas for years and has real good ears. Tone goes from clean to distortion with plenty of highs and decent lows with the internal speaker - because it's easy to upgrade, I plan to install a Weber at some point.
