Great value electric piano
By: Nathan from Milford, NH
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Seems to be well made, and looks nice. Its not a high end piece of hardwood furniture (and you shouldn't expect that at this price), but it looks considerably more classy than a typical stage piano. At first glance you would assume it was an upright piano, until you realize its not quite large enough.
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
Hi quality keys, good looks, usb connectivity (no usb to midi converter needed if you want to connect to pc software) great piano tones. Would be nice if it had a pitch bend wheel, but that's a minor gripe since I'm way more interested in using this as a piano than a midi controller.
Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be?
Easy to assemble, then plug it in and turn it on. Very straight forward if you've ever used any type of electric keyboard before.
How is the tone?
Lots of good piano and organ sounds. Also includes a full general midi soundset. Where it really shines is the grand piano tones, particularly through headphones. The built in speakers and amplifier could stand a little more power and clarity, as the quality of the piano tones doesn't really shine through unless you listen through good headphones. I haven't tried it with an external amp.
Was this item an overall good value?
I think you would be hard pressed to find a better value at this price point. if you're looking for a starter instrument for your kids (as I was) the usb jack makes it a great companion for instructional software like the emedia series. Also, unlike an accoustic piano it has two very important features for parents: a headphone jack and a volume control. :)
