Got these to replace the Celestion T-100 speakers in a Fender 4-12 cab. The T-100s sound GREAT at ear-bleed volume levels, but not so good at more reasonable (club) levels. The Rocket 50s definitely improved the tone and punch, both at reasonable volume levels, and even louder! They also sound great at home levels. Ran my Super Sonic 60 at 1/2 of 1 on the volume dial, and they sounded wonderful. Overall, a big improvement in tone and punch. I would recommend these speakers.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Well balanced tone, low to high. I prefer brighter sound, and these give me that. Not quite as bright as Vintage 30s, but very good.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Great job on manufacturing.

Like I said, I trust Celestions! I've had Celestions before. These are made in China though I still trust the company for its quality.
Reliability

Haven't had it that long but I trust Celestions.

Short on cash but wanted value, speakers delivered! Replaced shetfieleds in a old 5150 cab and let me tell ya.. worth the small cash!! Big difference in sound. Deep, not as middy or muddy as the shetfields.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?

I see nothing wrong with them. They only have four mounting holes, but that's easy enough to fix if you want more.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I've only had 'em for a day.

Well, I knew when I bought them that they weren't going to be the perfect speakers for playing a major arena. They're for my 4x12 cabinet. I needed 16 ohms impedance for my amp, I didn't want to spend a lot of money, so I got them.
Again, they're budget speakers. You can't expect perfection at this killer price.

Feels like a set of 12" speakers.

Very black on the front, with silver mounting ring and basket.
Action

They acted normally. They just sat there waiting me to install them.
