Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I think it is made extremely well. It has the build quality and playability/feel of a much more expensive item. General Your general opinion of this product. I think it is tough to find the features this guitar has, at this price point. Neck thru, compound radius fretboard, emg 81/85's, locking tuners, 24 frets, abalone inlays and binding...its great. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Pickups are awesome. Anyone who knows metal music has heard active emgs before, specifically the 81/85 set...they are great. You can get quite a range of sound types, although I do think the guitar was built for the metal enthusiast. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Here is the only thing I can grip about a little bit. I bought the flat black, which is awesome, but there are a few tiny spots along the edge of the neck, (the binding), where maybe the finish smeared a little, but its barely noticable and I dont care about that anyway. The neck is beautiful, flat black is awesome, with matching headstock also. It really does look nice.
You gotta try out this guitar!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I was skeptical at 1st, because when I researched this guitar, I found it was made in China. In the past, China did not have a great track record with making good guitars. These are designed in the U.S.A. however, and made to exact (quality) specifications in China. No quality issues! General Your general opinion of this product. This guitar is amazing!!! I've owned about 7 guitars to date, & this one is my favorite by far! I took the risk of purchasing a Scratch N' Dent guitar ($200 off), & was pleasantly surprised! Barely any scratches, that's it. The few I found were not deep, or even noticeable at all really. Only seen by looking at a certain angle in the light, & your face has to be close to the guitar as well. To be honest, most players will make these scratches naturally over time with their pick or fingers. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The tone is geared towards heavier playing (metal, etc.), but can be used with other styles if your set-up is right. The guitar also sounds really bright in my opinion, which I personally like. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? This guitar is beautiful!!! I was amazed at the finish right out of the box. Online pictures are exactly how the guitar looks. Abalone inlays & binding are an excellent touch, & the Trans Blue finish shines!
IM SURPRISED THEY'RE NOT SOLD OUT YET!!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The quality is almost perfect. I found a couple blemishes which makes me believe that's why we're paying $600-$650 and not the retail price of $800-$850. The nut at the neck isn't glued flush to the headstock either and I had some really bad oils on all the metal on the guitar and it was kinda hard to get off. But those are just minor flaws. General Your general opinion of this product. I absolutely love this guitar. I ordered the DC-1 ST in Transparent Black and it looks alot better than the pictures that AM has on here. The abalone binding all the way around the guitar, the black bound body and bound fretboard. I love the EMG 81/85 setup just like what my favorite guitarist, Zakk Wylde, has in his Les Paul. The neck thru helps with the sustain and also the weight of this guitar is crazy light. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? This guitar is bright. It plays like an angel's voice in clean and like Satan's death metal screams when you play distorted. I play thru my iMac in Garageband/Logic Pro with my M-Audio FastTrack USB which isn't really letting me get my full potential out of my Charvel but it's still perfect. Can't tell the difference between this guitar and a PRS or Gibson. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I love the transparent black. I went for the transparent red but they were sold out when I finally came around to ordering one. Minor blemishes and the nut at the neck isn't glued all the way down flush to the headstock.
