Controller of the future
Quality:
The VX80 is extremely well built compared to other controller keyboards that I've seen. Great looking out-of-the-box and a ruggedness to boot. While the bulk of the unit is encased in metal, the underside is a compressed-wood product.
Features:
Upgrades. With the ability to upgrade almost any aspect of this controller to include expansion boards allowing it to become a working e-piano or synth, this could possibly be the only controller keyboard that you'll ever need.
Ease of Use:
If you're not fluent in the fine art of MIDI... be prepared to read and re-read the manual as well as boning up on MIDI from outside sources. It's easy-to-use capabilities are limited by the need to configure it to your specific needs.
Action:
The keyboard action plays great.
Value:
For the money there is probably not a better controller keyboard to be found, especially when you consider it's upgrade possibilities and DAW controll functions.
