My power amp for my subs went down and I had a sound gig in 5 days. Looked up the specs on the crown XLS 1502 and decided to give it a shot.
Got it in 4 days and put it in the rack and it worked perfectly. Would definitely recommend it

I bought this to rebuild my bass guitar rig. This amp is fantastic. It’s light weight (8 1/2 lbs), has a shallow rack depth, a bunch of onboard settings and extensive ins and outs. The blue lights are cool as well. It has plenty of watts at different ohms, internal routing options and 3 crossovers. I would recommend this to anyone who is carrying around a rack to play live shows.

I purchased this amplifier to power my 1200 watt 12' sub woofer in my home theater. The Crown xls 1502 works great with my A/V receiver due to the amplifier having a built in digital sound processor which allows you to set the input sensitivity to high (0.775v) for low level signals, such as the signal coming from an A/V receiver. This amplifier also allows you to set the input sensitivity to low (1.4v) for use in live sound applications. I have used this amplifier in several concerts over the years without any issues including the first version of this amplifier (Crown xls 1500). The amplifier is extremely quiet, you can't even tell when the fans kick on, which it doesn't do very often by it being an efficient Class D amplifier. So therefore I would highly recommend the crown xls 1502 to anyone needing an amplifier for live sound or home theater use. This amplifier has plenty of headroom without clipping, this amplifier definitely surpassed my expectations with it's feature set ranging from input sensitivity settings to it's remote power control features which allows you to use a 3-pin phoenix connector and a normally closed relay to put the amplifier to sleep when not in use. I currently have the amplifier setup in my theater in mono bridged mode with it's input sensitivity set to high, which allows it to provide my sub woofer with 1550 watts of power on a 4 ohm load. Along with powering the amplifier on and off remotely from my A/V receivers 12 Volt trigger output which powers a 12 volt normally closed relay that shorts the ground pin and sleep pin together when not energized to put the amplifier into sleep mode or when the relay is energized it breaks the connection between the ground and sleep pins which tells the amplifier to power on out of sleep mode, this enables my A/V receiver to power on the amplifier or put it into sleep mode via. the sleep and status pins. Quick side note the first version of the crown xls series (1500 Model) which is discontinued, doesn't have sleep and status pins which allows you to remotely power the amplifier on and off. The first version also doesn't have input sensitivity settings which means they had a fixed input sensitivity of 1.4 volts which is primarily for live sound applications. If your interested in any of these features, make sure you purchase the latest version of the crown xls series (1502 Model). The two at the end of the model number on the crown xls series signifies version two of this amplifier. I hope this information served useful to you in making a decision on purchasing this amplifier or another amplifier in this series. Also the official wattage ratings for the different type's of speaker loads can be found on crowns website, which may be useful in deciding which model you need for your output ratings.

I have this thing running two cerwin Vega towers and it pushes them to get VERY loud and crystal clear. The fan almost never comes on as well. The display is easily readable as well as easy to use. Great amp and will push your speakers

I'm using this Crown 1502 in a home audio application along with a Denon AVP-8000 and the Denon DVD 3910 and it sounds superb. Crown should put this amp in a Home audio configuration(another cabinet.) This is a very powerful clean amp. I love it, and the price is a steal for this amp.
