It works. Nothing fancy, just a hand/finger exerciser. Good brand. I have average size hands and it fits hand size perfectly.

I just bought my first guitar at 50 and had no idea how weak my fingers were until this came in the mail. It's really well constructed. The rubber hand and finger pads are comfortable and prevent slippage. The adjustable resistance just seals the deal. I absolutely recommended this if you need massive gains in your digits!!!

Due to an injury years ago, I need to use this just to keep the strength I have . It works very well .I highly recommend it, even if you are not injured just to build up hand and finger strength. I actually saw this first at p. T. All I can say is , it works very well. It has more then doubled my guitar playing time.

Great for dexterity

I bought this to keep calluses going during longish periods of downtime. What I found is that it is an amazing tool for working little finger and ring finger dexterity. At first I thought the adjustments were going to be gimmicky, but it is super cool to be able to spin one just a little tighter all the time.

I like the adjustable resistance. What I received is not the same as the item pictured. The area for My palm has a very uncomfortable lump (for grip), it digs in to My hand, making it hard to use for more than a minute or two.

Ordered this mainly as a fidget device to use at my desk daily, and I believe it’s helped my fretting tremendously in the amount of time I’ve had it.
I’ll run through scale patterns in my head on it while sitting at my desk.

Full disclosure: I am NOT using this as often as I should. Not because it is sub-par, but because I need to discipline myself.
The Varigrip I received carries the D'Addario name and has a better pad than what is shown, it is a better product! The same pad is also removable to help build callouses on your fingertips.
Every bassist and guitarist needs one of these to help build finger strength.
I recommend this for anyone looking to improve their dexterity and finger agility.

I bought this in hopes of increasing my finger strength, and it really does work.
My only complaint is that when I adjust the wheels to increase tension they back themselves off after several squeezes, so I have to readjust every so often.

This thing works great for getting the fingers and wrist in shape and building dexterity and speed. It is a newer design that's not pictured here it has a much better and more comfortable designed palm/thumb grip now! You can do all kinds of great exercises with this thing that are all listed on the packaging. When you remove the palm grip and put it on the other side there are simulated strings to help toughen the fingertips as well. It also has comfy contoured rubber finger pads in each of the posts. These exercisers are a big step forward from the the old school originals. Even as someone with already strong hands this thing is a must for improving guitar skills alone.

I had difficulty with a neuropathy problem in my fretting hand, really started to scare me, my physical therapist suggested the idea of exercising my fingers more, so I decided to give this tool a try. Found it worked quite well over a few months, easy to use like those grips at the gym, except this one works the specific finger muscles. It also has adjustable tension dials on each button, which makes it very unique. I am not saying this is a cure all for diabetic issues like mine with age of course, but everything can help, like in my situation, I just kept moving, playing, practicing and exercising, this device gave me the advantage I needed to do just that from the point of individual finger therapy and muscle strength. This was and still is a very useful tool that keeps me playing my best.

I have seen exercisers like this before, but never with the removable grip and the textured string simulators to help build callouses. I absolutely love this thing! It is made of plastic, but doesn't feel cheap in the slightest, and the rubber grip does a great job of making it comfortable in your palm. All in all, I would have to say that this is a very "handy" addition to my guitar toolkit. Thanks AMS and Planet Waves!

Listen, this is an excellent and disposable product that is way cheaper than disposable razors!! It has strengthened my fingers big time!! I replace it about every 16+/- months. I have a broken back so STRENGTH conditioning is 75% of my daily routine. And this finger exerciser is apart of it all day; at doctors appointments, watching TV, in the car, constantly!!! Love it!!

having nerve damage in the left side of my body from a bad wreck in a semi truck, and wanting to learn to play a guitar made this a must have. Unlike so many strength builders for your hand, this lets you work on the strength for each finger. I highly recommend this to those who suffer this problems.

Ok, so I don't have a grip of steel yet...but I am getting there. While in the military I suffered from trauma that caused nerve issues that affected my grip and strength. I have used this for a while and now can once again play blues scales comfortably with my pinky. It has truly been a godsend to me and made playing more enjoyable than it has been for a while.

Your general opinion of this product.
It makes you feel like you are doing something more productive than mindlessly squeezing a plain hand exerciser. The hard part is remembering to use it.
Feels durable. I have yet to test the springs out at their highest possible tension, but even at the partial setting it provides a good "work out". Designed in such a way so as you don't have to worry about it accidentally pinching your fingers.
Very comfortable in the hand. From the padded end, to the contoured finger buttons.
N/A... unless you count the slight squeaking.
Tight.
Sleek design.
Hasn't lost any spring tension yet.
