Beautiful Analogue Sound in Delay
John Rowe from Brentwood TN USA
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Simply observing ---- brilliant. I do not know how the Danelectro folks were able to build this fabulous delay, in an analogue style for the price they have maintained over the past few years! It has served me well for more the 10 years without a single glitch. Totally silent --- on or off. Built like a rock designed by NASA!
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Never failed. Anytime I need delay, there are the digitals I own and the Dan Echo. It is fun, depending on the song, to mix the two sounds w/ varying degrees of presence in the mix. Would not trade it for anything @ present. Glad she is still out there! Tough, solidly built.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
Excellent, warm analogue response whether clean or distorted....
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Easy. So easy and "feel specific".
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
You choose: bright or warm.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Lavender. Flat. Helps it stand out on the floorboard. (Though purple is my favourite colour, My Boss FL-3 sits on the sidelines in deference to my Ibanez FL-99. So, those who know me, incl. my wife and daughter, KNOW colour did not play a part in my selection of the Dan Echo.) My other delays are DigiTech x 3 (digital and Line 6, modelled.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Silent switching. No complaints...
