I have the trans cherry burst - the colors are bright and the clear finish is flawless. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Beautifully crafted, great playing guitar. I totally love this thing. I traditionally have not been a big fan of Dean guitars, but I'm damn glad I bought this. I've played Gibson, Peavy, and Fender electric 12 strings, and I actually like the play on this one better. Great neck, clean fretwork. The body is not at all bulky, allowing a great feel on the strap, or on your lap. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? A good range of clean and rough. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Very well made. something unexpected at such a low price. The neck is very comfortable and true. Tuners are the weak link and a higher ratio may be desired. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Very reliable. Over 8 years with no problems. A couple of fret jobs and nothing more. Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Feels fast because of a smooth comfortable neck. Headstock is large and causes a little unbalance but the player can adjust. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Bright on clean settings and smooth on dirty settings. Pickups are mellow. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Nice Action How was the action out of the box? Playable out of the box. User may want to adjust to their liking.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I would say for the short time I've had it, it's a very well made guitar. I can't imagine an issue with dependability. My only concern is the scarf-joint on the neck between the first and third frets. But with care I'm sure it will last years and years. This joint is very well done and cannot be felt at all. If the grain matched you wouldn't know it was there. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Well, I just got it so we'll see but it does appear to be quite well made. Overall Your general opinion of this product. I really did not know what to expect when I ordered this instrument but I am very pleased with its sound and playability. The finish is flawless. And this is coming from a former Rick owner so when I say flawless that's what it is! Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Playability is excellent for a 12-String. Despite the partner strings sharing a bridge the intonation is quite good most of the way up the neck. I may experiment with lowering the action just a bit to see if this helps. I'm going to have to get used to the fingerboard width. It's a bit wider than the Rick to say the least. But on the other hand this does make it considerably easier to play. Control accessibility is not really an issue although I miss the pick-up balance control. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Tonally speaking the instrument has a nice wide palette from which to choose. As I said before I particularly like the Rick sound and that is totally achievable with this guitar. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Let me repeat-Flawless! Action How was the action out of the box? I did a minor neck adjustment to bring the frets dead level. Other than that the action itself is fine- no buzzes.

Even the inside if the F holes are sanded snooth Reliability How has it stood up over time? Very sturdy and well built. looks like it did the day i got it. How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The neck is thick and heavy. Playing with a strap is difficult because the neck wants to hit the floor. The tone knob is a stretch to reach unlike the easily accessed volume control Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? These hot pickups are smooth and snappy. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The sunburst Finnish on mine is as nice or nicer than similar ones on Gibson Les Pauls. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Have owned for only a few weeks but there have been no problems with intonation or holding it's tune during several gigs. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Was looking for an electric 12 string at a reasonable price to use on several songs with my band. I was blown away by everything this guitar brought to my music! Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Guitar neck is a bit heavy in respect to the body and needs to be held to compensate. The action is great and easier than a Ric to play because of the wider neck. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The pickups, are hot and the controls along with chorus & compressor give it the jangly sound I need. The sustain is great. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Guitar looks great. Action How was the action out of the box? Didn't have to adjust a thing.
