What is your opinion of this product?
This is a great super strat guitar. You can't find a better built or better sounding guitar for the money. First is the tone. The stock DMT pickups are great, I've heard their import versions of DMT Nostalgia in the neck and Equalizer in the bridge. Dean does truly make the best factory pickups in the business. They're staying in, no reason to replace. The neck pickup is nice and smooth but also has serious crunch if you want it. Somewhat close to a Duncan Jazz with a hair more bite. The bridge pickup just growls and snarls awesome. Both pickups clean well, especially when utilizing the coil tap option. This guitar has sustain for days, the combination of the maple top to the basswood body produces plenty of sustain, but the maple top does add to the weight. It's a fairly heavy guitar for a super strat. Second, playability. The neck is C-Shaped and maple with a rosewood fretboard. The neck is very playable and access to the upper frets isn't blocked by a metal plate. I didn't use the Floyd Rose a whole lot the first couple of years I owned it and it stayed in tune fine for me, but I ended up blocking the Floyd and getting rid of the locking nut at the neck. Lastly is looks and quality. Mine is Trans Blue, without a flaw and gorgeous. I've had mine for about 2 years now and no problems. For the combination of pickups, looks and tone woods you'll not find a better guitar at this price point, could easily sell for a whole lot more.
