Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? It's seems to be made good. Main draw back is that it has an XLR plug in the bottom to use with a pa system. That makes no sense at all and adds to the weight of the guitar. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Did not own it long enough to say. General Your general opinion of this product. Like I said it had a cracked neck polished over when it was shipped to me. And it has a XLR plug in the bottom. Which is useless and adds to the weight of it. I do not like the tuner,and it takes awhile to get used to it.And I had to ask how to use it. The only truly good thing about it is the looks Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? It plays very easy.The neck is not as wide as some i've owned. Feels good in my hands. The ability to slide chords is also good. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? For the price range not bad. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Looks are indeed the best thing about this guitar. Action How was the action out of the box? Had to take it to a guitar shop to tune it for me. Could not figure out how to use the tuner. I had to e-mail the Dean company. Other then that it plays ok.

This is my first Dean guitar and I'm impressed at the value and quality for this price. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I just got this, but the quality is obvious. Controls are accessible easily, the guitar is a fat 12-string with a rich tone (I used to have an Ibanez 12 string and this is slightly heavier and thicker) The neck is vey nice for a 12 string - not too wide or thick, Action is stiff - but most 12 strings are. I really enjoy playing this guitar and think I'll only enjo it more over time. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Rich, and silky. The electonics need to be toyed with to get the sound you want, but the eq onboard works quite well and it shouldn't be any problem getting to sound any number of ways. If you buy this guitar, people will not believe the cost as this is a drop dead gorgeous guitar. Action How was the action out of the box? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? I've had several friends play this guitar, and cannot believe the small price tag I've payed. It plays very similar to a 1970 C. F. The tone is very smooth and surprisingly warm. I'm used to spruce tops with more bite, but this has a very mellow vibe, again, friends cannot believe the sound of the pick-up also. Very nice clean and true response from the electronics. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? This is definitely a 10 out of 10 as far as beauty in an acoustic! The grain on the quilt ash moves subtle to brash! Action How was the action out of the box? The action was acceptable straight out of the box. It's a 12 string so the action will be a bit stiff. I've only played one nicer playing 12 string, and it was a Martin that listed for a mere $5000. If you're strong enough to play a good 6 string, you will not be disappointed with this guitar's action.
