Not that well made. It has a grounding problem (easily fixed by soldering bridge area to input jack), but you get what you paid for. I've only had it for about 4 months and haven't had any NEW problems. Scratches easily though. Your general opinion of this product. For the price, it's a decent guitar if you are experienced only. Neck is smooth, knobs are crap. Only "off" and "on" knobs, no in between. Light cheap pickups produce decent tone...It sounds kind of dull when playing clean. Light translucent black. Cheap, but cool. Action was nearly perfect for me. I just easily raised the bridge about one millimeter.

YES, WELL MADE FOR THE PRICE, A GOOD BEGINNER GUITAR,DEPENDABLE VERY WELL Your general opinion of this product. BOUGHT THIS GUITAR IN AUGUST -09, AFTER PLAYING ONE AT XXXX IN CHARLOTTE,N.C. ALREADY OWN 2 DEANS,THE MICHEAL SCHENKER V,$299.00 MODEL, HAD TO RIP OUT THE STOCK PICK-UPS[CRAP]AND REPLACED THEM WITH BLACK AND WHITE DIMARZIO STEVE VAI PICK-UPS AND PUT ON A SET OF SCHALLER STRAP LOCKS ADJUSTED THE NECK AND LOWERED THE ACTIONAND WAS GOOD TO GO! AND ALSO THE THE DEAN ACOUSTIC -ELECTRIC BLACK ,WITH THE BIG V HEADSTOCK, GREAT GUITAR, SOUND WISE, LOW STRING ACTION,AND PLAYS LIKE A ELECTRIC, LOVE THE ONBOARD TUNER.SO THE LITTLE VENDETTA, I BOUGHT THE DARK STAIN MODEL, GOOD FINISH,LOWERED THE ACTION, CHANGED THE CRAPPY FACTORY STRINGS, TO MY BRAND DUNLOPS 9-42.AND WAS GOOD TO GO, PICK-UPS ARE O.K., NOT GREAT, BUT FOE $100.00 DOLLARS, U CAN ALWAYS RIP THEM OUT AND INSTALL SOME TONE ZONES AND HAVE ONLY SPENT $300.00 DOLLARS FOR A RIPPING GUITAR !!! NECK FELT GOOD. SMALL, FAST, FRETS WERE FINE,CONTROL KNOBS O.K. GOOD TONE WOOD,PICK-UPS ARE NOT HIGH GAIN, MORE MELLOW GOOD STAIN FINISH LITTLE HIGH FOR MY STYLE,BUT WAS EASILY ADJUSTABLE

I've been playing a guitar for about 8 years now, And I've had the honor of playing some of the most amazing guitars that our time has to offer, I wanted more of a metal sound out of a guitar, And I was having a hard time giving up the Fender name. But I went against my gut and bought a Dean Vendetta XM in natural satin, It's more of a cherry-wood color. Great tone! And an awesome metal sound! It is very light weight and easily played, The strings are perfect height right out of the box, I really dig the dual humbuckers. As well as the finish I chose, I've been playing on it for a while now, And I haven't found anything I really dislike. Great guitar, Great Price. No problems with wear and tear as of now. Your general opinion of this product. It's perfect. Feels very light. Almost delicate. Mellow clean tone, Solid metal tone. The finish is perfect! It was perfect.

this guitar is built very well. this price is amazing for guitar with such great tone. i have owned this for almost a year now, and it has held up quite well. the volume knob slips up every now and then, but it is still a very reliable guitar. (it has been dropped on the ground by accident multiple times.) Your general opinion of this product. a wonderful guitar. this is the lightest guitar i have ever held. it's literally like lifting up a large stack of papers. this tone is amazing for metal. the pickups sound like an EMG 81/85 set, but they still buzz a bit. they go from dark and beefy to light and airy. although the black version looked good right out of the box, you cannpt see the wood grain through the finish at all. The natural satin finish looks wonderful though. really good.

This guitar is intended for beginners. I'm a drummer but i can tell a poorly made guitar when i play one. The frets are not even so when you play certain notes, they are considerably sharp. As you go to the 12th fret and higher, you start to lose entire notes all together. The tone knob doesn't hold. The Volume knob is falling off, and the screw for the chord input fell out. Your general opinion of this product. I think if you want to buy a guitar, you might as well just save another $100 and buy an Ibanez or an Epiphone It's very light, i will say that. But other then that... The pick-ups are decent but again, you get what you pay for. The finish is not what it shows in the picture. For the Black Finish, you don't see the wood grain. It was alright. (this was back when all the pieces were still together) It will need new strings though.

I had got a dean vendetta as a present for graduation but it was hard to learn on with the floyd rose so i decided to buy a stringthru and it wasnt worth the bill i paid! The frets were poorly trimmed and scratch up my fingers. Plus the transparent black is actually flat black haha! I had to fix the frets so other than that problem it will be an alright guitar to use to practice on. Your general opinion of this product. Dont buy it! Deans is an excellent guitar company but if i would have know that this guitar was going to be poorly made i would have reconsidered my opitions. It seems to be a nice feel now that the frets are fixed. Great! Not so good, scrathes near the neck and the head was chipped but im sure that happened during shipping. Also the necks finish was scuffed all along the back all the way up the neck. Plus i was sorta dissapointed at the fact that the guitar was flat black when it awas advertised as transparent black. Alright

DECENT for a $100 Guitar

By: Jesse from TN      Submitted: 1/22/2009

Relative to the price, it's decent quality, though it does have a bit of an overall chincy feel. The hardware feels a little less than secure, could require regular maintenance to keep everything tight. Your general opinion of this product. For a $100 guitar, it's really decent. It would be hard to find a better guitar for the same price, but you could easily find lesser ones. Action and playability are pretty good overall, though I do have two big caveats here; firstly, the body is made of such a light wood, that laying my right arm over the guitar to hold it actually bends it out of tune. The other is that the crests of the bridge saddles are quite sharp, and if you lay your hand on the bridge to play, those things can bite. More on the brighter, thinner side, but run through good effects it can sound pretty good. Finish is fine. Played as well as could be expected; didn't require any major adjustments out of the box. Comes strung with D'Addarios.

Awesome guitar for the price. My nephew broke off the headstock and I have heard of it happening to some others.I'm sure this wouldn't happen if you were careful. Like I said;broken headstock. Your general opinion of this product. I liked it a lot. It would be worth putting some better pickups in. Good feel and playability. Tone is OK,some pickups would really make this little jem come alive. Finish isn't so great and dings easily, but for less than $100.00 what do you want? Good action, needed intonation set.

A very good $90.00 guitar.

The guitar is pretty nice for the price paid. The quality is at least as good as most Squier instruments I tried out for my son at two to three times the cost. Haven't had it long enough to judge reliability. The weak link as in any cheap instrument is in the electronics. I can see the need to replace the controls and pickups in this eventually if my son decides to stick with it. The pickups are somewhat thin sounding and the controls are a little noisy. Have not opened up the control cavity but my guess is that the guitar is not shielded not that I would expect it to be in this price range. Your general opinion of this product. I bought this guitar for my 10 year old son to start learning on. For that it's perfect. Very playable, pretty decent sounding and it looks good. I've been a working musician for almost 25 years and have played a lot of different instruments and will say that this guitar is certainly worth the price and would recommend over most similarly priced guitars. The guitar is incredibly light weight, which is nice for a younger/smaller player but would probably feel too light for someone used to a Strat or Paul. The neck feels pretty good with the natural finish. The fret work is not bad and the neck is dead straight. The guitar came with the action set nicely so I haven't had to adjust it yet. Surprisingly it came strung up with D'Addario strings not some no name junk. The thru-body stringing is a nice feature that I didn't expect in this price range. As mentioned earlier the pickups are kind of thin sounding and a little bright. Really no surprise there as I wasn't expecting it to have great pickups in it. Although with a pickup and control upgrade this would be a very respectable guitar. Of course it would also be $200 more expensive. I ordered the black finish. The copy I got was not nearly as translucent as the one shown on the site. I had to look very closely and under direct light to be able to tell that it wasn't actually solid/opaque black. The is a couple minor flaws in the finish in the front and few more on the back but nothing too bad. There is a spot where the fingerboard joins the neck at the first fret that kind of looks like an open knot in the fingerboard that should have been filled but was missed. Again no big deal as it does not affect the playability at all. The action was good right out of the box and it was strung with D'Addario strings which was a nice surprise because I thought I would need to change the strings before I gave to my son.

I don't find this product to be made very well. It goes out of tune frequently and there is sometimes a crackling noise when adjusting the knobs and toggle switch on the instrument. I haven't had it for more than a year, but it is good as a practice guitar. Your general opinion of this product. I think that for a freebie, it is a decent guitar, but if you have to pay for it, it's not worth it. The sound quality is fairly sharp, but the tonal range is very limited. Like I said earlier, its great if its free, but it's not worth buying. It's rather light and the feel of the guitar is cheap wood and finish. very snappy tone; the pickups were very thick. kinda cheap not incredible, could have been better

Best Guitar I have ever owned

I find this guitar to be very well made and it sounds great,I have purched other guitars and they were $100.00 more then this one,and it way better,I also love how lite it is and the fret board is slim so it's easy to play if you have small hands or are a novice guitar player like myself. I have had it for a week and have been playing like 4 hours a day if not more and it work just as good as the day I bought it,I must say that it stay's in tune pretty good as well. Your general opinion of this product. I would recommened it to any one it's alot of fun to play and it looks great It's lite so you can play for hours and your shoulder won't hurt,I would have to say it's a bite heavy Metal so the sound is chuncky, but I play great Alturnative tune with it as well,It feels so right in my hands. I would say it's Dark and smooth,a think bass sound as well very deep!!! I love the painted black,it looks great and you got to love the head stock it's a classic. Ready to play,it even came with a six foot cable which was nice.
