The sound that comes from these American made banjos is all a player needs especially if a light banjo
(no heavy tone ring) delivers a bright loud sound. I’d recommend these to any player as a second banjo that doesn’t break the bank. I’ve e ran seen the open back ones used by professional players being played on some videos on tv. Keep up they good work Deering Banjos. ????

I love this instrument! You will not find American craftsmanship at a better pricepoint. This is the pot-back counterpart to the Goodtime Banjo and the neck is lightning fast and the tone is just pure gold. This is my go-to banjo since I received it as a gift last year.

Can’t beat this banjo for its tone, playability, looks and price! Easy to play slim, smooth neck built from gorgeous white with a deep, warm bottoms and mellow but distinguishable highs makes this banjo better than any other in its price. Made in USA

I was looking for a light travel banjo, and the Goodtime really fits the bill. It is well built and easy to play. The resonator adds a great deal of tone. I have been pleasantly surprised with the overall quality of this banjo.

This banjo is extremely well made and is set up very well out of the box. I was a professional banjo player for over 30 years when MS struck me and left me severely disabled. I am so weak that trying to hold my old mastertone is really painful. I bought this thinking it would be sorely lacking in sound but boy was I surprised. It weighs roughly half of what my old mastertone weighs and allows me to play from a chair very comfortably. I really recommend this instrument to anyone.

I needed a banjo that was light but at the same time sounded good. The goodtime banjo was it. It came set up and ready to play and I play it every day. It plays easy and has fantastic sound. I recommend this banjo for beginners and seasoned players as well. You won't be disappointed with this instrument.

This banjo is ok. It is as advertised a $600 banjo nothing special. The tone is good, but I have a $200 banjo that sounds almost as good. The neck is made of 3 pieces glued together rather than one solid piece. There is no truss rod, so if there is a neck problem you either have to go through warranty or if they refuse your out of luck. The banjo was severely out of adjustment when I received and since they did not provide a banjo key I was unable to play it till I purchased a socket to fit. Someone forgot to tell them the world is now metric. When I inquired why they did not include a banjo key they copped an attitude. I hope if I have warranty problem they I get a better response. All in all it is not a bad instrument, but I expected more from Deering both in quality and customer service. If you want a beginner banjo, I would look elsewhere for less money. If you want an lower intermediate model this isn't bad.
