Product Rating Product Review The box the pickup comes in says x2n, but the pickup in photo description doesn’t match what’s in my box. The pickup in my box has a circuit board back and the photo description shows a metallic back. I wouldn’t care but this circuit board backed pickup claiming to be an x2n doesn’t even sound right, it’s less aggressive. Got fast shipping, AMS is great, but there’s something screwy in the dimarzio line up.

Product Review The X2N is an awesome pickup for metal. No other pickup comes close to the tone you can get with it, except for the D Activator. Very high gain with lot of harmonics. Like other reviewers mentioned keep the height low on it. If you have it to high it gets very nasally and won't sound good with your neck pickup. Keep it low and you'll be set. Put a X2N in your guitar if you're into any type of metal. It will turn your guitar into a beast! You won't regret it!

Product Review I first installed this pickup during my metal yrs if the early nineties in a Washburn MG70. From my first time to now I can tell you that there isn’t a better pickup for metal or for punishing the front end of a tube amp. What’s great about this pickup is that it doesn’t lose articulation even under the highest gain settings. It also sounds nice on the number 2 position when combined with a single coil. Great cleans when split or in parallel. Be warned though, this pickup has a sweet spot as far as height goes. And if you’re not in it, you won’t get the full potential of this pickup. But man oh man when you get it there. Magic. If you’re into buttery vintage tones, look elsewhere. If you’re into a great modern high output tone, you cannot do better than the X2N.

Product Review I have used this pickup live and on nearly everything I've recorded with the Graveyard Apostles. Its a snarling beast that's made for metal. But it is NOT limited to metal by any means. Keep it drastically lower from the strings than mere mortal pickups and you get the most out of it.Cleans without breakup. Clarity under massive gain settings. Chunk. Unreal harmonics.String balance. And still enough output to make actives cry for mercy! Simply stated...badass!
