Subject:All in one, and all you will need!
Quality: Hard as a rock, heavy, bigger than I thought it would be. It is built very weel. Knobs feel tight, buttons are solid, plug ins are top notch, truly perfect quality.
Reliability: Only had it a week, but can imagine it will last a lifetime of normal use.
Overall: I was planning on buying a recorder, an amp, and effects seperate. I tried the GNX4 to see if it would work instead. It does. Very well. You will like it and you will be able to play through it immediatley, but you will realize also that this thing can do almost anything and it will take a while to learn how to make it do all of it. Eventually, the tone and sound will be something you are amazed by.
Playability and Feel: You will be able to play through it right away - but realize the expression pedal acts as a volume pedal for many of the presets and if you have the pedal set to volume off and you will immediately assume there is a problem because the presets don't all play. But, you just need to push the pedal so the volume is up and you hear the presets. It becomes easuer to use as you use it.
Tone: Much better than I expected. Much much better than Line 6 right out of the box. You will find a lot of the presets not so usable, but infinitely tweakable - you will get the sound you want and it will not sound processed to hell.
Finish: Like a tank.
Action: Great!

Subject:Owned this 9 months, just unlocked it's potential....
Quality: Feels very sturdy, heavy and strong.
Sound: Liked it before, love it now that I have the Guitar World and Guitar One presets. I am going to purchase the MFX Supermodels now. I can't imagine what over 1000 more will sound like. I have a Mesa Dual Rectifier half stack and this thing can sound just like it. You could really plug this into a PA and leave your half stack at home.
Reliability: I have owned it 9 months with no problems.
Overall: Overall I am very pleased with the GNX4. It really has more abilities than I could explore in a lifetime. I am an intermediate player and mainly used a couple of the factory distortion presets and one of the clean presets. The other day I found the Guitar World and Guitar One presets on a website to download. My God what a difference. I got this for Christmas and just was overwhelmed with the abilities of this thing. I just dont have enough time to learn everything. Now that I have downloaded the free presets I can sound like Hendrix, Van Halen, Velvet Revolver, Foo Fighters all with in a click of a mouse. I feel like I just opened my Christmas present all over again.
Playability and Feel: Plays great sound wise. The only thing that is not impressive is the tuner. It isn't very accurate at all. It is very shaky and hard to get it dialed in. That is one of the reasons I wanted this unit. If you are looking for a good tuner you may want to buy that extra. I'm going to the Boss TU-2
Tone: Tone is great with the presets you can download online for free.
Finish: Looks shiny and new.
Action: I just selected a factory preset and began playing. It was a little challenging to do much more. I needed a few days off from work and no kids to really read the manual and learn how to use it.

Subject:Perfect for quiet practice, studio, and gigs too!
Quality: Great quality piece of equipment. I've been loyal to Digitech for many years because of their dependability.
Reliability: So far so good.
Overall: I took a chance on a b-stock and it's the best thing i could've done. It's solid and is so versatile.
Playability and Feel: You need to spend some time with this unit and the manual. Neck?
Tone: Spend time with the channels, won't work out of the box.
Finish: Colors are ok. I'm more into dark colors but for the price it's all good.
Action: This isn't a guitar so no action...

Subject:Don't count the aging GNX4 out - It is simply awesome!
Quality: This product is very well made and very well thought out. The unit itself is extremely solid. It is intuitive to use the modeling functions and comes with very good software and even a USB cable. X-Edit is very easy to use and is a great way for designing your sounds. I haven't used the recording functions yet but I have little doubt that will be similarly highly functional yet easy to use. More on tone below...
Reliability: Digitech equipment, especially the higher end stuff with metal chassis has never disapppointed.
Overall: I've owned Pod XT, GT-8 and even an earlier GNX3. I went on a tube kick and recently decided to get another modeler and after much thought went with the GNX4 over the newer offerings by Line6 and Boss. The recording aspects did appeal to me, but my primary purpose was to purchase a unit that would provide me with the basis for a live rig and so far I am thoroughly impressed with the GNX4. Two key things that you must keep in mind are 1) you must run this through decent full range speakers such as studio monitors or quality PA type speakers (and NOT the front end of a guitar amp, though going through an effects return would work well too) and 2) the presets REQUIRE tweaking to sound good; usually just dialing in more bass and treble and/or presence. It didn't take long to get everything from Fender and Roland JC tones to hot rodded Marshall and Mesa/Triple Rectifier type tones. Some patience and knowledge of what makes good tone will pay off!
