Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
So far so good, too soon to tell but I treat my gear gently especially effect pedals since I hate the re-programming process!
Reliability

Your general opinion of this product.
The 255 is rugged and made to last. Solidly built. Full size foot pedal, smooth action.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
For a pedal; It is heavy (which is nice) it doesn't Flop around like a 505. as above the foot control is smooooothh!
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
High def effects! Amp models are just OK, some are usable.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
It's not a vintage FOXX pedal in screaming red felt but, it is appealing in basic black.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
I bought it used and had to download the manual since it needed to have the foot pedal parameters reset, but after that... JAMMIN- plug n play!

Its made out of metal and plastic. Again, not sure if I'd gig with it but it seems solid enough for most people are going to be using it for.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Mine is brand new so I can't comment on how durable it is but it seems pretty solid. Not sure I'd want to mash my foot down on the switches as they appear to be the Achilles heel of the product.

Your general opinion of this product.
For those looking to buy an inexpensive multi-effects pedal, you should seriously consider this or the RP350. You can check out the differences between the two but both offer excellent value for the price considering the shear amount of new sounds you'll be able to come up with by simply inserting it between your guitar and amp. It's nice having the headphone jack so you can play w/o an amp and it also has an input for an ipod or whatever so you can play along with external songs. Add in the 20 sec looper, volume/expression pedal, the capability to connect to a computer for recording (comes with included software but you will need to buy your own cable though) and this easily becomes a mandatory purchase for you bedroom rock stars out there.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Took about 10 min to get the hang of the controls and how to edit/save sounds. You can use the 60 presets and be set or spend an eternity tweaking all the controls to come up with your own unique sound.

I purchased for use overseas for a couple of years - it has offered great versatility and tone options while I am away from my stomp boxes.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Pretty good - two gripes though: 1) patches can only be switched in sequence, by going up or down - understandable considering only two pedals, and 2) no on/off switch - unit turns on when plugged in.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
It's an effect pedal that offers a diverse selection of tone manipulation parameters. Easily programmable and convenient unit.

Solid metal casing, durable build. I find this to be an excellent way of perfecting my guitar licks without bothering everyone in the house or the neighbors. I especally like the ability to put on headphones and Jam-along to my favorites or work on new compositions. However I would not use this for a live show (other than for the tuner and volume control and maybe just one effect or two, since scrolling to find the sound presets will drive you nuts and also your bandmates.

the tone is pretty transparent, i use the lexicon reverb all the time, echo is nice, chorus ok trem ok, YAYA great fun!- for live playing very useable- i have better analog boxes but the idea here was to get reverb and rotary and wah in the space taken by the old rotosphere. No Tap tempo it that is a big deal to you though.

no problems, there is a tweak to adjust the on/off point for the wah, but that is easy. Like all these things you have to invest time to set them the way YOU need them. the stock sounds are there to sell th ebox in the shop, you need to edit them, the PC interface is the way to do it. Build a base patch, copy it to all the user setting s then edit "your" sounds from there

Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
well made physically. nice and quiet, not noticeably "digital" sounding - for a live playing situation - just great.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
solid, but not too heavy - cast aluminum i think, just tight
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
I play in a band in very tight quarters. i had stripped my rig down to a rotosphere and a blackstone overdrive i realized this box was about the same size as the rotosphere, had a similar rotary sound (with variable speed - and dopler woosh / belt slip! on the pedal and lexicon reverb and volume and wah. so i thought i would give it a try. I found it very usable. i am using the volume/wah and reverb as a "no effect" patch then add an effect or two as required on nearby patches. i do use an analog distortion box in front but honestly some of the simulations are very usable - tracking really nicely with the volume pot at typical gain settings.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
playability good. you have the patches you set up plus loads more on a quick access rotary that will over-ride the user presets (sadly, these not editable, but some are very useful).
Editing on the fly is very easy with a PC and the software, its not impossible without it -if you want to adjust something during the song it only takes 10 seconds or so
