One of the toughest things about learning guitar is finding people to jam with. Without other musicians, it is difficult to work on timing, phrasing that works in a mix, and other details. The Trio+ lets me build my own songs and loop indefinitely so I can try out new layers and riffs. While it has a fairly steep learning curve, I can actually build multi-part songs and jam out without needing to find reliable bandmates.

Wanna jam? No other players around? This dingus provides a competent backing band to solo or compose over. This gizmo does it all. Loop a phrase, play over it, start the band, and start on your extended musical forays. As satisfying a pedal as I've ever encountered. I borrowed one and then could not find but very little info on how to do even basic stuff, its a great product but there is no detailed instruction YouTube, there is no telling how many they have already sold that are in some closet somewhere. Digitech needs to produce a Youtube and not depend on private individuals who assume to much.

I bought this to see if it was useful at all. Other loopers I have tried were complicated to use and know what to play and when. This one works in a logical manner. You can just hit the record button, start on the downbeat and play your progression. At the end of the pattern just hit the end button and you have a bass and drums track to play along with! It doesn’t add or subtract measures. It’s like playing with a band! The controls offer lots of interesting options.

I have had this pedal for about a month. It exceeds my expectations. There is a LOT to this pedal. You can layer parts with multi-instruments for live performances playing along to the rhythm section created by the instrument input (not limited to just guitar) rhythm you 'taught' it with. Awesome machine.

Had this looper+ for a couple of weeks and been blown away by it's capabilities. It's looping capability is extensive (overdubbing, etc.), The creative part seems to not have limitations. You play in a sequence of chords, choose the genre you want to work in (or experiment with other genres, and time signatures within the genres). The pedal provides bass and drums for the key. Loop down a rhythm track and proceed to work on your solos. For performance, whatever song you want to perform, there are five levels to the song and you can choose to amplify different levels (e.g.chorus, bridge, outro). Could not ask for anything better in this time of isolation.

You have to try this out it is a lot of fun , but you can use it to work out songs if you like to write. Also I have use it to play a straight melody line then I was able to a solid lead part all at the same time while I sung the lead vocals .plus your adjustments for timings on the drum and bass are all in one knob. I own the "Trio" and thought it had some value for quickly putting song idea's down. The addition of a looper on the Trio+ however, turns this pedal into a one man band. 5 Complete song parts can be sequenced and each recalled at will via the FS3X footswitch. As for a practice tool, the Trio+ is fun to use, creates usable bass and drum parts; and most importantly, my chops are getting tighter and tighter using this pedal. I highly recommend if you are looking to improve your playing skills or (and) if you are a song writer.

Nothing is perfect so a 5-star rating on most anything isn’t very useful without critical review when trying to make a purchase decision so I would give it 2.5 stars if I could. The Trio+ concept was a good idea but in my view poorly executed and way over priced. Like many have already said, it is not generally easy to get a good result from the Trio+ Even after a few weeks of getting to grips with its functions. It’s hit and miss mostly when using it and mostly miss. “Sometimes” you can get “fairly decent“ results after multiple attempts but often the result is unusable. Their SDRUM product while not a looper provides better drum/bass accompaniment with much less fuss, is much easier to use and less expensive. The SDRUM coupled with their JamMan looper is far more intuitive and provides usable good results most of the time. I own both products and I use the SDRUM almost always instead of the Trio+. The trio+ just doesn’t live up to its cost or hype. Sometimes it works ok but just ok. If you get the results you want then maybe it’s for you but in my view I couldn’t in good faith recommend it to a friend so I definitely would not rec to a stranger. My advice is to get an SDRUM and if you need it get Digitech’s stand alone Looper to sync with it. That combo isn’t perfect either but far more satisfying and predictable to use. I do not recommend the Trio+ to anyone.

Great features, ease of use, and I highly recommend this unit. I love the bass and drum that it allows me to throw into my music and when you are a one man show, like I am so many times, this makes all the difference in the world for my performances. And the looper is just more icing on the cake for me. This little jewel makes me sound terrific, and I love it. So would I suggest buying this unit to my friends, absolutely!

I've had this unit for a couple months now. I never looked at the instructions and have been using it to the best of my ability for some time now with excellent results. I use it to capture ideas and make backing tracks. I play Solo Instrumental guitar and the trio is a big part of my practice routine. One day I will find the time to really figure out what it is capable of, but for now I create a song, sequence it and send it to my Tascam recorder to use as a backing track for solos. The sound quality is great on the unit, but when transferring to a multi track recorder through the headphone out I seem to lose some clarity. Sounds great, but not studio quality. I don't prefer the sound through an amp though it sounds good straight into studio monitors. I can jam for hours through headphones with this unit. Overall it is the quickest and best method I've found for song creation and practice tracks. It is very useful in place of a metronome and key holder for scale practice as well. Just makes practice a little less like work. The drum and bass tracks are great, far beyond my creativity as I am a guitarist. The unit will store your songs, and the looper is the best I've used. Built in distortions that vary by Genre, useful but not great. It would be very useful with pedal effects. If you don't like the sound through an amp, try it through headphones, studio monitors, or a separate amp or bass amp. It seems to be very versatile and the sound quality is limited only to your gear. I highly recommend the Trio for any style or level of guitarist.

I cannot say how much fun and easy to use this device.it's perfect for a guitar player that doesn't have any drum or bass experience.I have had the trio for several months now and I'm still using daily.I promise that if you play one you will have to own one.It also has stereo headphone outputs so you don't need to wake the neighbors.I have shown two of my friends my trio and both ended up buying one of their own.I cannot say enough good things about this product it's simply amazing and highly recommended by me and a American musical made it very to on me with their monthly financing so for the money this is the best band creater on the market.

I know a couple guys who might be looking for a new band to join. The Trio+ is the best thing since the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs. Kidding about my guys, but this is the best writing and arranging tool I've encountered, and well capable of adding backup for solo shows. It learns fast! It pays for itself fast, too. Twelve genres, twelve styles for each genre... it's got me covered no matter what I do. The bass options for variation are great, the looping is way easy. I have a hard time getting away from this thing. Built in fx and an fx loop, too. Amazing little box! The FS3 footswitch makes it really user-friendly. Make your bassist and drummer realize that they're replaceable. They'll play better.

I had all kinds of ideas as to what the Trio+ could do and I was right...mostly. This band creator does a helluva lot more than I imagined. Took it out of the box and read a piece of the instructions to make sure I wasn't going to break glass when it was all started up. First part, let's get some rhythm going. Easy enough. Buttons, lights, bang! We got drums and bass. Play a little tune then jump those dials. Wow, there are literally thousands of beats to play with. Time for rhythm guitar. Hit the loop button play a little ditty and in no time flat there's 3 dudes in my living room. Then more dial twisting and my smile just kept getting bigger and wider.
Needless to say I'm very pleased with this product and I have just scratched the surface of its possibilities. The best part of it is that it's such a perfect practice tool to firm up your leads and keep your beat with the rhythm all while discovering new sounds for creative writing of new music.
My 12 year old son whom has just begun his quest with the guitar literally shot out of his coat and picked it up. I gave him rapid fire instructions on how to start it up and even before I finished he had his accompaniment going. Yes, it's that easy to start and no, it's not that simple to find it's maximized potential. But it's so amazing right out of the box it's worth the effort. JP, good purchase!

I am a singer/songwriter/guitarist. With the Trio + I can get tremendous inspirition by The Trio Plus creating Bass and Drum Tracks that match my rhythm guitar playing. I can use 5 different parts (guitar,bass and drums) to create a full song with an Intro,Verse,Chorus,Bridge, and Ending. If thats not enough i can use the Looper and Overdub guitar leads,power rhythms, and even transfer the final song to a recording device or a PC for gigging. This is an amazing tool that every songwriter, or player should own: Dr. Roy Meyer.

To be able to play a few chords then it sets you up with a bass and drum accompaniment. You are able to control the speed and the genre as well as volume for both the bass and drums. Took a day or two to figure out how to work it. I'm sure the next models in the future will be easier to navigate but this one's not bad. Just wish it would have more designated buttons. It's built solid and works great. I recommend running a separate speaker from your amp. Bass or pa speakers work well. I would recommend this product for sure.

The Trio + is a well crafted and thought out pedal. It's easy to use with intuitive controls. It is an excellent tool for writing songs, practicing parts or just jamming out. The second output is particularly nice as it splits the signal so that the drums and bass are sent to a mixer or powered speaker and your guitar amp has just your guitar which can give the overall sound more of a "band" feel. Of course it'll work just as well if you only have a guitar amp too. Headphones input to play quiet is also a nice feature as well as appropriate onboard guitar effects for each genre selected. I'm loving mine and very glad I got it.

I've seen people use this online, and it looks great. But the learning curve - just wow. Trio has no online tutorial, no basic how-to video to just get started. This thing is a complicated mess so you can jam to mechanical bass and drum parts. Save yourself a whole lot of money and trouble - and loads of time, and buy a basic looper. I'm returning mine. But if you have a lot of time on your hands, sure, give it a try.

I do not use the bass feature on it, just the drums. It is well built and easy to use but the sounds and rhythms are very limited. The drum sounds are not changeable and are only output in mono.
This pedal should have had at least a simple BPM indicator. Also, it would have been nice if it could combine different rhythms together, like Rock+Latin percussion. I use it to record some ideas and to keep time, but have to look for something better for my needs.

Ordered on a Thursday afternoon and it arrived Friday 5:00pm. Had it up and running in ten minutes. Although I had it going in short order, I am sure I have not even touched the features that this seems capable of doing. The pedal is sturdy and easy to manipulate, especially with the optional footswitch. The bass lines are really good, and the drums don't sound bad at all. I play all types of music (playing for 50 years) including with a full band but I do a lot of acoustic shows as well, which is why I purchased this unit. It learns the parts 'on the fly' and despite other reviews that say it is not suitable for live gigging, I assure you, with some familiarity, it absolutely is suitable. I am not a 'pedal' type person, and prefer to get my sounds directly from my guitar and amp, but I must say, this pedal is fun. The only negative I have is that it only comes with a quick start guide and you need to download the full instruction manual online. All in all, a good buy.

The perfect answer for a one man band. Drum and bass backup is intuitive and almost infinitely variable. The looper is the easiest to use I've ever experienced. Several ways to initiate it means easy "alignment" with any song. The intelligent output jacks mean it sounds great whether you have a PA only, a guitar amp only, or both. And the included FX loop makes hooking up pedals a cinch. Finally, the ability to store all your songs on micro SD cards makes it perfect for performing. With the accompanying software, it's easy to set up song sets to your liking. I absolutely love it.
