Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The build quality is excellent. The assembly looks to be great quality the front panel knobs work smoothly and have a positive feel. The color screen is easy to read and a lot nicer than a mono screen of some other products. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? Its a one rack space sound processor that includes Lexicon licensed effects, a Sound Craft Preamp, great color display, and efficient use of the screen with the most important information on the display. Up to 4 separate outputs plus an additional output for the lead vocal to be sent to a FOH system separate from the harmonies. So the lead vocals won't be over powered by the harmonies in a live environment. USB interface for backing up user patches. Free Library software so after saving user patches, you can reload them to different locations that are more convenient. It would be nice if all program and control change Midi commands could be on one Midi Channel. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? The manual is well written in plain English. The set up information is straight forward. This unit is fairly deep, but after reviewing the manual block diagram, I plugged the unit in and gave it a try. I started paging through the programs to see how they were set up and started to sing. Great results as soon as I got a handle on the basic settings. Can't get much easier than that. Sound How is the tone? That is the best thing about the VLP, it sounds incredible. I have been told by other musicians that showed up at some of my gigs that before they came into the room and could see the entertainment (me) they thought there was a 5 piece band with a group of singers playing. I sequence all my songs and with the VLP harmonies, I sound like a band! Reliability How has it stood up over time? I bought the VLP last summer, so I've had it about a year. I gig with it, practice and program with it almost every day. No problems. General Your general opinion of this product. The VLP is a remarkable improvement over earlier vocal and harmony processors. I owned a Digitech VHM5 harmonizer since 1992 and it has served me well, never failed me. But after working with the VLP and hearing how great this model sounds, the VHM5 went into retirement!
