I just bought several of these for stocking stuffers for my students. It never hurts to have several of these on hand, regardless of skill level. Every guitarist knows the value of string winders. It ranks up there with picks, strings, & a strap. Essential!

For a while, I considered getting one of those string winders that you put into the chuck of a drill motor, but given my lack of coordination, I figured THAT would just be nothing but trouble.
Here then is the $2 solution.
It's well made and reasonably priced. Go ahead and pick one up today. You will be glad that you did.

Works as well if not better than you would expect from a plastic tool. They last forever. They do not drag,lag,or break under use. Very good product for the money. The one bad review I will add is that this tool has a acoustic peg remover that is to thick to do the job on most of the units I buy.

Nice little tool to carry in your guitar case. Heavy duty plastic holds up well. Removes pins easily and easy on your finish. Have one I used for years and finally wore out.

Sturdy, portable, efficient and affordable.
I've been using these for over 10 years..
I bought a new one because I went to a friends studio and they were trying to change strings on a dreadnaught acoustic guitar. They had pliers and screw drivers out and were trying to gently use them to take out old strings. I had my own Dunlop 100 Guitar String Winder in my guitar (Stratocaster) case in my van. I went out to my van brought in my case and took the Dunlop winder out and sat down and quickly and professionally took out the old bridge pins and removed the old strings. Out in the new stings, replaced the bridge pins and quickly and professionally installed and wound in the new strings.
I gave that Dunlop winder to my friends and ordered a new one.

This train line to work pretty good. fit the tuning keys Gibson Studio Les Paul, Fender Stratocaster, Fender Telecaster, Epiphone. nice fit on all. would recommend this string Winder in your guitar tool kit.

sure, i tried the rest...like the one that had a built in string cutter...used it on a pair of Yak Trax's last winter and that was the end of that. But this string winder, whirls easily and in no time I have restrung a new guitar with lighter strings...
